I read this for my church, Gracepoint Fellowship Church Praxis (Young Adult) book club. It is a great read and includes many relevant examples. I definitely think that my knowledge in Christian theology is stronger after finishing this book. It is not a page turning, because some parts can be a little confusing. Even though C.S. Lewis is a little more abstract and theoretical sometimes for my liking, he is still one of the best Christian authors and this is a great classic. Lewis is a little more abstract and theoretical sometimes for my liking, he is still one of the best Christian authors and this is a great classic. A must read for anyone who wants to find out if there is a God or not, what Christians believe, Christian behaviour, and become knowledgeable about the doctrine of the trinity!

Favorite Quotes: (P. 197) "Teachers will tell you that the laziest boy in the class is the one who works hardest in the end. They mean this. If you give two boys, say, a proposition in geometry to do, the one who is prepared to take trouble will try to understand it. The lazy boy will try to learn it by heart because, for the moment, that needs less effort. But six months later, when they are preparing for an exam, that lazy boy is doing hours and hours of miserable drudgery over things the other boy understands, and positively enjoys, in a few minutes. Laziness means more work in the long run. Or look at it this way. In a battle, or in mountain climbing, there is often one thing which it takes a lot of pluck to do; but it is also, in the long run, the safest thing to do. If you funk it, you will find yourself, hours later, in far worse danger. The cowardly thing is also the most dangerous thing."
I feel like I was pretty lazy in college, especially when it comes to econ problem sets. :-/ Thanks to my friends/classmates for picking up my slack. Not sure why I picked the field of econ, when I'm not even that interest in it... I guess I wanted to be practical but still cling on to some of my passion? I'm passionate about the environment & business side instead, but environmental econ is not really about dealing with environmental problems or business...oh well. I'm just glad I was able to graduate from Cal.(less)

Read in July, 2007

I had to read some sections a few times before I grasped what Lewis was trying to say, but it was worth the extra time. WOW. The progression from no God to Jesus as Savior really blew my mind.

Argh, I tried to undo the duplication of this book on my list, and it looks like I erased my review of it. I'll rewrite it someday. Maybe after rereading the book.
