Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie is probably worth 4.5 stars, but I'm super stingy with my 5 star ratings... so I've rated it at 4.

Even though this book looked interesting enough, I originally felt it would be too 'childish' for me to get into. However, when it came up as a book-of-the-month read I figured "what the heck" and borrowed it from the library.

Even though the protagonist is a precocious eleven year old girl, it reads anything but childish. I was very pleasantly surprised at how well
