4-4 ½ stars – Contemporary Romance

I liked SEP’s witty writing, laugh-out-loud humor, and steamy love scenes, but the hero’s crappy treatment of the heroine made me spitting nails mad at times. I just kept thinking, “why does she put up with his sh*t”?!?!

Retired football legend Bobby Tom Denton might be a sexy as sin, insatiably flirtatious, happy-go-lucky, infectiously funny, womanizing, hellraising, aw shucks ma’am cowboy with killer bedroom skills and a sh*t-eating grin, but he’s also an ego
Heaven, Texas was absolutely wonderful! It's my first book by Phillips and although I got it from the library, I'm definitely putting it on my "To Buy" list, since I know I will want to reread this book several times. So cute and very funny; the interactions between the hero and heroine were priceless and the supporting characters were interesting and added to the story.

When I was preparing to venture into contemporary romance and did "research" (lol) on Rachel Gibson's books, See Jane Score see
I absolutely adored this on audio! Anna Fields' Texas twang for Bobby Tom Denton was great - I am in love! She was aces for all the other voices, but I totally fell in love with "B.T." With this ugly duckling story of Gracie and Bobby Tom I went from one extreme to the other. I laughed, I had tears in my eyes, so many moments to savor, I really loved his mother Suzy's storyline as well. A real keeper! Can't wait for the next one! What a fantastic story - it was hilarious and sweet and tender - i ...more
This book featured an emotionally adolscent, egotistical jock of a hero named Bobby Tom. Bobby Tom!! Are you kidding me? He also said "sweetheart" a lot, which, if you've read any of my other romance reviews, really annoys me. I wasn't convinced by his eventual epiphany about love because he seemed like kind of an asshole for so much of the book.

Unfortunately for me, SEP strikes again with her great writing and extremely sexy sex so I guess I have to give it three stars in spite of Bobby Tom an
I've read this book twice, but this was the first time on audio. I love Heaven, Texas in any format, but listening to Anna Fields read the book is pure pleasure.

Bobby Tom Denton is one of SEP's most bone-headed heroes, and I can't say why I like him, but I do. I don't like him all the time but he has redeeming characteristics that won me over. It also helps that he has a major grovel scene. I like groveling after a character acts like an idiot. ;-)

As with Nobody's Baby But Mine, SEP takes a ris

Another delightful read by Ms. Phillips. Loved Gracie and how she stood up to the legend of Bobby Tom Denton.
I laughed a lot with this audiobook but I hate martyr heroines and the end was very disturbing. It's as if the author felt that she had to wipe the hero's face in @#$% just because he was selfish.
