Science fiction or paranormal romance (a newly discovered genre) is not always my cup of tea. It has to be really well written. My first reading of a paranormal romance was one summer during my teenage years when I thumbed through Jacqueline Susann's "Yargo." I honestly don't remember too much about that book except that I thought it was very good and filled with more romance than with techno talk, which I intrisically hate. And I do remember a good heroine, which I intrisically love....more

I was in the middle of the Twilight series and needed a book to hold me over until I could read books 3 and 4. I picked this one up because I thought it would be interesting to try an adult Stephenie Meyer book. I was hesitant to read it though. I was so mired in the Twilight world that I didn't want to leave it for this one. When I did start, just like Twilight, I got so swept up in it and couldn't stop. The story was rich and I grew to love the characters, and again, like the Twilight series, ...more

It took me a while before Ms. Meyer drew me into the story, but once I reached page 75, I realized I was hooked! The story was well written & certainly a unique twist on alien invasions. I'd love to see her do a sequel to this story. Wanda's plight tugged on my heartstrings & the story's resolution left me wanting more. If you want to read an alien invasion story with a twist, this is it!

After mourning that this book was NOT part of the Twilight series, I finally grew to really like the story. At first it was a little too sci-fi for my tastes. But eventually the narrator's voice grew on me--it was very similar to Bella's voice. And once it got more into the relationships (it was a love triangle with four entities and three bodies) I got sucked in. I know this book was marketed for adults but there was no swearing or sex that would make it inappropriate for a younger audience...more

It was a great story about Wanderer and Melanie...I was very attracted to the character of Wanderer she has a lot of qualities that I would like to have and some that I already do. What i got out of it was what it means to be human and not take anything for granted and celebrate our amazing forest of feelings sorry sounding like a carebear but its true, we as humans have such a complicated range of emotions and seeing that from someone pointof view that is not human was very refreshing!

I adore this book. I am not usually into thick fantasy books but this one's very interesting to read. Even though some parts do not seem to make sense, they actually work in the story. The characters are interesting and the plot is thorough, well developed.
Well done!

I really like this authors style of writing. This book kept interested on on edge with what will happen next. A good storyline with key points of family bonds, loyalty, trust, friendship, humanity, love, self sacrifice and respect.

WoW! Meyer has done it again, only this time with a Sci-Fi novel. The characters come to life and you either love or hate them. An amazing story of love, hope, and acceptance. Yet another book to buy for my collection!
