A flawed but goodhearted exploration of race relations between white women / black maids in the South, with moments of profundity. Erin Aubry Kaplan dissects it well: http://www.goodreads.com/group/show_book...

This book was literary perfection. One of the two best books I've read this year!
I loved the characters. They were so rich and well developed. I honestly don't know how in the world she brought an authentic voice to each woman with such different experiences and perspectives, but she totally did.
I sure hope she's got a second novel in the works. I can't wait to see what she comes up with next!
