This is the third book by John Saul that I've read, the other two were The God Project and Comes the Blind Fury. The first half was boring and I was confused. But the second half had me pretty hooked. It's scary, gruesome and macabre, just the sort of book I like to read. All the time I thought Sarah Conger was the culprit behind it all, but in the end I found it was none other than the sweet innocent Elizabeth although she was possessed and had no idea what she was doing. It was unputdownable !

John Saul is my favorite author. I think his books are awesome.

Over the years I've probably read most of John Saul's work, but this - I believe his first novel - had the biggest impact on my. I love a good scare and delving into the psyche of the troubled mind, then looking for the reasons of what it was that twisted the individual's mind in the first place.
Suffer the Children scores a Big WOW! on all counts.
