What Members Thought

Melanie
A mother is writing to her husband about their son, who went into his high school and committed mass-murder.
She ponders the decisions the couple made, the way they raised their kid, and how all this affected him and might have influenced his dreadful act.
More importantly, she tries to see if the fact that she didn't love her son had anything to do with it. Was it all her fault?
This was a very harsh read, especially for someone who loves children. Seeing how cold this woman is, and how negative...more

I'm doing this one on audio; a bit depressing, I'd day, but I'm seeing it through.

I know ... thanks for flying GoogleAirlines ... it isn't a true story, but in a way it is. There are Kevins in the world, unfortunately, and I suppose there are many stories like Eva's.

One of the reviewers here found herself standing on her balcony having a good cry after she finished the book. I'm wondering how I'm going to feel about it - glad that it's over?

As of course I'm sure it is suppose to I had a lot of different emotions throughout this book. It put you through a roller coaster and really I never liked Kevin and I had a hard time with that and with never seeing a redeeming quality in him. I know it you are seeing him through his mother's prespective and I understand to some extent why she feels the way she does but still. I'm glad I listened once but can't see rereading.

absolutely loved this once I got used to the writing style - it was haunting but brilliant and I loved that I didn't see the twist coming and that is was so shocking - a book that has stuck with me.
