This was really a good story! I'm giving it a 4 solely because the first 1/3 of the story was SO slow I almost quit, but I'm glad I kept on. I listened to the audiobook version of the story and while I wasn't happy with the girlish voice that the narrator chose for Honor, she was a good reader. Very much enjoyed the story and look forward to the next book.

My full review is here but I think if I was to summarize this book (and series) in a nutshell it would go something like this.

Kick Ass and take no prisoners!

I really enjoyed this book. I loved Honor she was very strong and stood up for what she believed. I wish some of the other characters were more fleshed out sometimes it was hard to tell one from another. I'm hoping the other characters get better as the series continues. It was interesting trying to figure out what was going to happen next. I loved the action after all of the build-up. I already have the second book in the series and can't wait to find out what's up next for Honor and her new cr ...more

Awesome, wholesome and intelligent sci-fi set in the distant future where worlds are populated by friendly alien species, there is an intergalactic military and ever present good old fashioned bad guys to deal with. I loved this series. The hero is a powerful and sexy woman- I love it even more! give Honor Harrington a try- you won't be able to stop at just one.
