O.k. I finally gave in and picked up a copy of Twilight. After seeing the movie, which happened to be a little cheesy on the romantic side, I wanted to see what all the hoopla was about. Plus, Stephen King came out and said that Meyer is an awful writer and I needed to see if he was right. Wrong!! First of all, her target audience is female teenagers. King mocked her for the sexual connection between Edward and Bella. Was he looking for somethign raunchy. Meyer did a great job of capturing the e...more

I enjoyed this book! It was an easy read compared to most. Don't expect anything like Harry Potter but a great escape for those who want a science fiction.

This was pretty good. I was pleasantly surprised by this book. Written much better than the movie. I am looking forward to the rest of the series.

Cajoled into reading this series by a friend who desperately wants to see the 'New Moon' movie with me. Figured I'd give it a read before seeing it at the cinema. Unfortunately I think I need to be 20 years younger to appreciate the full meaning of this book. *sigh* What we sometimes do in service of a friend.
In addition, some of the book club thought provoking questions at the end of the book mentioned that 'Twilight' was inspired by 'Pride & Prejudice'. Having just read 'Pride & Prej...more

anyone who loves vampire romance
I was realy hesitant to read this book because I was getting out of the whole Teen Drama genre, so when one of my trusted friends and my own mother started reading this I was very surprised and decided to take a peek at it. Twilight turned out to be incredibley interesting and put the idea of the young vampire in a new light. Starts out a little slow, but the Character Bella is, in her own uncoordinated way, intoxicating.
Give this book a chance, you'll want to read all that follows.

Finished! I'm sure I will continue with the series. I thought it was a well written story, obviously written for young adults, yet I enjoyedit just the same. In addition to the obvious story, I think it also gets across strong family ties, both amongst the Cullens and Bella's ties to her mother and father, and respect in Edward's love for Bella while still keeping her best interests at heart. If I had a teenage daughter, I would whole-heartedly want her to read the story.

There are few books I "love", but this hit that category. I got this book from the library, and after reading it, didn't wait for the hold on the other two in this series - I ran (literally) to the book store and bought all three.
I enjoy vampire stories, and this one was defiantly a "un-put-down-able" book. They know they can’t and shouldn’t be together – yet are drawn to each other. On to the next book…

At first I saw this book as simply entertaining with a odd, but somewhat cute concept, then with the turn of a page the book came alive. I stayed up all night to finish. Sadly the ending returned to the odd, but somewhat cute concept. I did enjoy the story, but I have not decided if I will continue with the series.

An incredible read. Young adult fiction at its best. If Stephanie Meyer's can keep this story as interesting as it is now, I'm headed for a great time. Please don't let the subject matter or the fact that this series is found in YA keep you from exploring this new and exciting author.
