Wow...I hate to be the wet blanket after all these wonderful journal entries, but I didn't enjoy this as much as I had hoped I would. Not unlike [a previous reader], I was expecting *more* of the sci-fi, and less of the romance, and while there certianly was a great deal of time-travel this story was much more involved with the love affair of Clare and Henry than it was with the "science" of moving through time. Plus, I'm not much ...more

When I heard that Eric Bana is starring in the film they are making of this book, I decided I wanted to see it. However, since the book is usually better than the movie, I wanted to read Niffenegger's text first. I was skeptical at about how good it would be -- it seemed like it could easily be depressing Oprah's Book Club fodder, or just fluffy. But I was pleasantly surprised -- this well-crafted book is one of the best novels that I've read in a long while.

I really enjoyed this book. It's an intriguing story that drew me in pretty quickly. The story is fast paced (sometimes too much so- especially in the beginning, but stick with it; it gets easier to keep track of as you go on) and emotional but there is something missing as far as character development goes, I feel as though the main characters are still lacking in personality.
Overall, a great read. Have tissues handy though- definitely a tearjerker!

Wow, this is a great book. While some may be put off by the "time" travel, if you follow the book more from Clare's timeline, the book tracks along.
Without spoilers, the story of Clare's waiting is what is so both touching as well as heart wrenching. Clare waits for Henry throughout the book and her life is defined by the gaps of time.
I really enjoyed this book and can't wait to discuss it with others!

This was a great book. It took a while to figure out the 'time' thing, but once I did I flew threw the book. Some great laugh out loud moments and tears to the eye moment.
Really looking forward to the movie on this one. I hoep the can capture the connection between Clare and Henry like the book did.

Another book I found thanks to NPR. Unfortunately, I wasn't very impressed. Some good chapters were dragged down by strange moments like a character's manic dancing at a Violent Femmes concert. Weird.

You need to give this book 100 pages to get use to the time changes. But it is well worth the time. I really enjoyed it. But make sure you have the tissue box for the last 100 pages.

time travel fans, fantasy buffs, people who like good writing.
This book had an interesting premise. I would consider this book a fantasy. I certainly kept my interest. I started turning pages and couldn't stop. Enjoy.
