What a great book from a young, HOT author (who has a sexy Austrian accent...). Be warned: I may be biased since I groped his shoulder at ALA.

Heartbreaking/warming. I really enjoyed the unique storytelling in this book. Death as a sympathetic narrator really worked and the characters were beautifully full and real. I'm tempted to give this five stars, but think that may be a little too strong (a 4 1/2 star book for me).

Historical Fiction, Biography, Nonfiction reading list. In the end I liked it more than I thought I would. It takes a couple hundred pages to really pull in you. Then for the last couple hundred of pages you can't put the book down. It was definitely interesting. Can't say I've ever read a book like it before. Should make for an interesting book discussion.
