What Members Thought

I read James and the Giant Peach in 3rd grade because my teacher was going to read it out loud to the class and wanted to know if it was appropriate. I told her that I liked it, but not as much as Matilda, which I had read just before. Though I was not sure if the word "shit" was appropriate for the kindergarteners. I think it was "shit," but maybe "ass" or something like that. She ended up asking me to read it to the class, and she told me I could substitute any word I liked for the swear.
There are many things I love about this book, but one of my favorite is the cover with its image of a giant peach. I love peaches - heck, I married one. Everytime I am down in Georgia, I eat a peach for peace.
