This is a sequel to Liss’ A Conspiracy of Paper (reviewed below). Both novels follow the adventures of “thieftaker” and former pugilist Benjamin Weaver in early 18th century London. This is even more of a ripping yarn than its predecessor, as it begins with Weaver being convicted for a crime he didn’t commit. Read in January, 2002
Continues with the main character of 'conspiracy on paper'. Page turner and again, sights, sounds and smells of the period. His books come alive!
