Thanks to jury duty, I finished this in about a week. Great stuff. DFW makes obscure topics relatable and mundane-seeming ones interesting and touching. I can't imagine his insane load of footnotes working for any other author, but he completely pulls it off--in particular, the notes in "Host" that said only "!?" made me laugh out loud.
