Still working my way through - it's an interesting style of narration to adjust to. It tries to be poetically objective but the fact that Death is your narrator gives everything an interesting edge. His particular way of talking - if it were in conversation - would be highlly annoying and very pompous, but there's forgiveness and allowance when written, I suppose. 6.19.12

Powerful, beautifully written, excellent.

My only mistake was finishing the book while at work - employers look at teary-eyed

Haunting. That's what this book is. I sat in a sad, contemplative stupor for quite some time after I finished reading.

Heavy. It's not only the subject matter, but the way the subject is handled. Death narrates, and throughout the novel, a little bit of Death places himself inside you.

Absorbing. The novel is extremely well written. I do not particularly want to read more stories about the Holocaust - we've heard them all before, grown up with them, and the idea of another one is not exactly origi
