I read this book for a book club, and to my surprise thoroughly enjoyed it.
It's sci-fi with hints of cyberpunk, but the story is more to do with the characters than the technology, which I think is part of the reason I liked it so much.
Given that none of the characters had that much by way of introduction, I found myself caring about the ones I was supposed to care about
