Okay, I am torn about what I want to write about this book. First off, I did enjoy it. It was an easy read and entertaining. Did I love it, no. Why? Kinda predictable but addresses an interesting topic of racism within one's own family and one's own conscience. Also includes references to knitting and family history. Quick read.

This book was amazing.. The key is keeping an open mind and realizing that sometimes things are not what they seem. I read this for book club and could not put it down!

Good premise: a white couple gives birth to a distinctly African American baby, triggering a quest into their ancestry. The story was somewhat predictable, which would have been okay, but the characters were remarkably unlikeable, especially the husband and his family. If I had been the wife, I would have walked out on him when he demanded a paternity test and never come back, and the book would have been about 50 pages long. Even the wife was unlikeable (particularly where her father was co...more

interesting concept/conflict, but the book remained at too high a level to really explore ... I wished it would get into more depth.
