Martin Gardner's annotations are fascinating and informative, a must-read for any 'Alice' fan. True, he foscuses on minutiae which are, for the most part, not neccesary for one's enjoyment or appreciation of the books, but that doesn't decrease from the fascination they inspire. Also included in this volume is "The Wasp in the Wig" a deleted chapter from Looking Glass, which, being uncommonly included in 'Alice' anthologies, may be worth the price of the book itself.

This book is fantastic if you want to know the real meaning behind the nonsense in 'Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass.'

I'm leading my book club discussion in May on Alice and I'm using this as my Bible.

I love all the tidbits and info this book contains...the explanation of the nonsense and all of the inside jokes.
