Most series end when the author kills off the protagonist. The Dresden Files seem to have found a second wind with the Death of Harry Blackstone Copperfield Dresden. The Previous Book, "Changes" set up some MAJOR changes in the character and the stakes. With Ghost Story, the author allows Harry to attempt to level-set with himself. He is able to come to peace with many of the decisions he's made and regroup for the next group of case-files.

Definitely not my favorite in the series, but it did make me really excited to read the next one.
