This is the view LMM would have had from her window at the Cavendish homestead where she lived while writing "Anne of Green Gables." All that is left of the house now is foundations, but the exquisite nature remains all around. The "real" Green Gables where LMM's cousins lived--just a stroll away from her Cavendish homestead. Here you will also find the Haunted Wood and Lover's Lane. Silver Bush farm, home of LMM's relatives and the home she loved best as a child. It is the inspiration for (you guessed it) the Pat of Silver Bush novels. Here, too, one will find The Lake of Shining Waters This is the pond at Silver Bush dubbed "Lake of Shining Waters" by LMM The real "Lover's Lane" at Green Gables in Cavendish, PEI
