998 I think they're kind of like limericks, only sung. They seem to appear at social events involving lots of alcohol.

998 Like Joe, I know about him from studying Russian. Your average American though probably doesn't know him but your average American probably couldn't name an American poet either (so don't take it personally). There's a statue of him on the George Washington University campus in Washington, DC.
