Don't be discouraged, Leslie. You just need to look at it from another angle or through a different lense. For example, when I was a child I was very, very nearsighted. Then, in third grade I got glasses and when I went outside I realized that the grass was not a carpet but there were individual blades. I could have gotten mad and felt deceived that nobody pointed that out to me before but there isn't really any point in staying upset about things that have already been. Just go on from here and realized that each blade of grass is distinct and they all go together to make a beautiful carpet on the ground.
I have been reading the last couple of weeks of conversation here and I love it. I totally relate to what you all are saying. I would say more but I don't have access to my own computer at the moment. Thanks for this Joseph Campbell thread.
I do love Joseph Campbell. Right now I am reading a book by Sinclair Lewis called "Babbit.' I just finished Virginia Woolf's "To the Lighthouse." Anyway, I'm just trying to find some stimulating conversation.
