I just started Blonde by Joyce Carol Oates. And it looks like its going to be a long read 700+pages. But so far its interesting,I'm hoping it will grab me in. I've always found Marilyn Monroe quite a figure. If anyone has read please feel free to give me feeback and your reviews on it. Thanks
I just put my bookswim account on hold. They don't make it easy to get out of being a member. As soon as I'm finished reading the books I have out from bookswim I'm canceling the whole thing. I just need to make a list of what is in my pool. the library where I live in NJ is limited and very urban. Hopefully I will have some luck with some of the titles. Sure beats $20.00 bucks a month.
I only discovered this list a year ago and found the book at my local library. I think I have read 15 and with the one I'm currently reading I can say 16. Some of the books I will have to buy due to the library does not carry all of the list. =( sad, but in a city that is strapped for cash the libraries are suffering so much. It would be nice if all could help.

I'm still wading through this one but I think it’s worth it. I didn't really feel it started moving (or making sense) until page 40-something..."
Thanks, will keep a list

It just became available at the local library I just picked it up. Seems interesting so far but I'm only on page 10. How was it for you?
Hello, I belong to Bookswim, but I'm starting to find that Booksfree.com which is exactly like Bookswim is cheaper with more titles available. The only difference between the two is that Booksfree is cheaper 2 books for 9.95 and they are all paperback where Bookswim will ship hardcovers although more expensive. I thinking twice about Bookswim, due to the fact that booksfree are cheaper and you can have more books on queque. I hope this helps

Where would this list be located? I heard that the list has changed is this true?
I've read 20 so far. Some I may never read due to availability. Right now I'm reading Main Street by Sinclair Lewis. It's been an interesting read so far. I've read on another posting that there is a new list if this is so it just might throw off everything I've already read. Has anyone heard of this? please keep me posted to any news.
IFinished this morning One Thousand Splendid Suns by the author of the Kite Runner Hosseini I hope I spelled that right. Excellent book although its not on the list it was still powerful and moving. Now I'm reading two books from the list. Sinclair Lewis Main Street and Surfacing by Atwood. So far so good, but I'm not reading because now I'm here :)Let me get back to them. Bye all.
I was so glad to see the Color Purple on the list it is one of my favorite books of all time. Its five stars, a worthy read.
