I have read 80 books (am doing the combined lists) and according to my spreadsheet that translates to 6.24%.
Great point! I am always looking for that great high that comes from a book that resonates for me. I guess great literature is my drug of choice!
Tom-you are totally right with your comment! I THINK I should read the books (hello OCD), but actually I have to MAKE myself read some of them because they are, frankly, either boring or just plain bad. Hmmmm, this begs the question, why do we make ourselves slog through books that we aren't enjoying based on some other person's opinion regarding it's merit?
This group is supposed to be dedicated to the compilation '1001 Books to Read Before you Die', I don't remember seeing this title on the list.
Just finished 'Through the Looking Glass", it was entertaining and light. Surprised that I missed it when I was a kid.
I saw this post in another group I belong to as well and since your book isn't included in the '1001 Books To Read Before You Die' compilation (which this group specifically targets), I don't think this is the appropriate place for you to advertise it.
The Count of Monte cristo is a wonderful book! It's exciting,t didn't seem that long to me at all because it's very exciting!
Just finised 'Alice's Adventures in Wonderland', which is my 69th book. I am doing the combined list so I expect to finish in about a gazillion years!
Still working on 'The Idiot' and just downloaded "Gargantua and Pantagruel' from Gutenberg.
