970 Well I finally finished the book yesterday. For some reason, I didnt really have a hard time believing the first story. The details he gives into animal psyches and the details concerning everything he had to do, made it all the more plausible. Also, if the second story is the truth and the first is just his coping mechanism, then how does he have the presence of mind to recite everything that happened?

970 I just started reading this. I am on the part of religion etc. Hopefully once I finish the book I will understand what the hype is all about :)

970 Lauli - I totally agree concerning the Pendulum. I had to force myself to read it also, it seemed like just a rant of facts..

As for The Poisonwood Bible, I enjoyed it immensely!

I am starting Life of Pi tonight.

970 I have to say that I really didn't like the Alchemist. I don't really know why but Zahir was so much better than the Alchemist. I just though that there wasn't a very coherent message in the Alchemist and it was just a waste of words. My favorite of all of his books so far was the Witch of Portobello which I highly recommend. I still haven't read Veronika though which I will as soon as I find it.

970 Well as for the first few Chapters I am viewing her as being much too shallow and I do hope she surprises me later on.
