Really enjoyed this one. It took a bit to get into, but it was really good. Hope you like it.
Just finished Sputnik Sweetheart by Haruki Murakami. I love this author. I am now reading A Wild Sheep Chase by him, though it is not on the list.
The ending left me a bit wanting, but it made me think, just like all of his books do.

This got me intrigued, so I wiki-ed it. Apparently there is a movie coming out based on this book this year. That could be interesting. I read the book a couple months ago.
sorry, mine was just a question, I didn't relate it to the monthly book group since I wasn't discussing any direct story lines. It just somehow turned into the discussion
thanks so much, all of this helps a lot. Glad to know I'm not the only one that was a bit perplexed.
How many different viewpoints are in this book? I'm getting confused as to how many there actually are.
I just finished A Severed Head by Iris Murdoch. I didn't care too much for it. I just strated City fo God last night....I'm not sure I'm going to like the flow of it though.
I don't use bookswim because some months I read fewer books than other months so I don't feel the $15 is worth it for those months. I use bookswap.com and like it quite a bit. Its onyl the cost of postage to send out books.
I just finished Life Before Man and I must say I hated all the characters. I felt they were all very weak in character and found it very hard to even finish the book at all.
I just finished the Devil and Miss Prym. It was good, really quick and not TOO preachy, which I was afraid it would be.
I just started Life Before Man by Margaret Atwood. Its not on the list, but I've already read all of her books that are and I like to throw a non-list book into the mix at least once a month.

No, but he does use it in at least one other of his novels...Is it Amsterdam? Not sure anymore....I just ordered "A Child In Time"..."
I've read Atonement, Enduring Love and The Comfort of Strangers. I felt Enduring Love and Comfort were quite similar. I enjoyed the first half of Atonement very much.
If any one is on paperback swap, I have quite a few of the 1001 books listed on my bookshelf. It would nice to be able to trade some of the ones I've already read for those I haven't.
I'm in the member Directory as Katie L. from Austin.
