967 I just finished the third in David Moody's Autumn series. It's a great post-apocalyptic zombie series and it definitely strays from the beaten zombie outbreak path in a number of ways.

967 Swan Song by Robert McCammon is a good read. It's been compared to The Stand by numerous people. Good post-apocalyptic reading.

967 My wife is reading this now. I hope to get to it soon.

967 I finished watching the second series on DVD. I liked the ending a lot. I wouldn't mind seeing it continue, but I do think it ended well enough if it doesn't.

967 A friend of mine said that another network might pick it up. I hope so. Also, thanks for the link.

967 Are there any fans of Jericho here? I just finished watching the first season on DVD and I'm completely hooked. I can't wait to start watching the second season.
967 Travis,

I finished the Dark Tower series last month. I agree that it's definitely worth the read. I would agree that post-apocalyptic is just one of many genres that the series fits into.

967 I haven't started anything yet, but I will tomorrow.

I Just finished three apocalyptic novels:

Wold War Z
Plague of the Dead
Dying To Live by Kim Paffenroth

All are about zombies.

I highly recommend World War Z and Dying to Live. Plague of the Dead didn't do as much for me, but it's still a decent read.

967 Right now I'm reading Wolrd War Z by Max Brooks. Great stuff so far.

967 Jeff,

Good pick with Right At Your Door. I watched it about a week ago and found it to be a good early apocalypse film. Sure, we could look at it as an isolated incident, which I believe it was meant to be or we could see Los Angeles as a test for whoever set the bombs and consider that world about to be polluted with the effects of dirty bombs. Any way you look at it, the film was a good watch and should leave any viewer asking questions of how prepared they might be and how they would respond to the type of situations that came from the dirty bombs being used near them.

967 Some of my favorite films of the post-apocalyptic genre are:

Dawn of the Dead (both versions)
Day of the Dead
Last Man On Earth
Last Woman On Earth (mostly for the premise)
Night of the Living Dead (original and 1990)
Land of the Dead
Cyborg
Day X (decent independent zombie apocalypse film)
Siege of the Dead (cool zombie apocalypse film)
Children of Men
Zombie Town (decent independent zombie apocalypse film)
Slither

I'll add more as I think of them.
