Wasn't "The Lost Continent" the one where Europe and Asia are believe to have been decimated by war, then the submarine ends up off course over there and they fight lions in London and such? I can't remember the name of the book that I'm thinking of, but it was rather enjoyable.

And covering cars with spikes... don't forget that!

I'm thinking our end will be a lot closer to "On the Beach"

Political fall out would throw us more into a mad max type lifestyle.

Unfortunately the only people who seems to be doing well in those mad max movies are mechanics, tattoo artists and hairstylists... they are apparently covered up in work once civilization ends.

Isn't Swan Song American? I haven't read it, but I own it and plan on reading it fairly soon
