Anybody else been playing Left 4 Dead 2? I picked it up the other day and it's been a lot of fun so far. They really ramped up the action and weapons. I'm especially enjoying the chainsaw and sword.
I just finished reading Plague of the Dead and this one, and they're solid zombie apocalypse stories. Not in the same class as World War Z or The Walking Dead, but good reads for the zombie enthusiast.
Finally got to see this yesterday and laughed myself silly. Then I had to go to the store and stock up on Twinkies....
@ S.G. - I read that Diablo Cody is saying that they've got a script done for Breathers and they're moving forward with trying to get it made. Fingers crossed it gets done and gets done well.
Time also has a good photo essay up from zombies around the world.

I thought the first half of Cell was great, but it faded quickly in the second half. It's worth reading the first chapter or so just for the intial outbreak scene in Boston. I read it several years ago and I still get nervous waiting in line for ice cream....
I like both, but find the fast ones especially scary. I hope when the zombie hordes come for me, that they'll be the slow kind. Because I'm not in good enough shape to do that much running......
Woody had just finished filming this and was still in zombie fightin' acting mode when some photographer harrassed him at an airport. So he naturally treated the shutterbug like a zombie. At least that's what he claims. It's the greatest excuse ever for beating someone up....
Bad news. Looks like it's getting delayed. This is from a brief on Sci Fi Wire:
"Quantum of Solace director Marc Foster says that the anticipated film adaptation of the zombie-themed World War Z may have to wait a little longer: Speaking with Migros Magazin (via Dark Horizons), Forster says the film's script still needs a lot of development and is "still far from realization."
I should have mentioned The Walking Dead also. It is an incredible series.
@Randy - I had the exact same thought. That reading them feels like you're readng the storyboards for an HBO series. I keep hoping that some cable network will use them as the basis for a series.
Not only is Woody Harrelson making movies about fighting zombies, he's fending them off in airports.

I totaled a car once just hitting a deer so I can only imagine what plowing into a horde of zombies would do. Plus, they'd eat ya once they pulled you from the wreckage. Glad to see the Austin highway department is warning people.
I'm in the middle of the single player mode, and can't get enough of it. I love how the AI changes things up so you can't memorize a level, and they've done a nice job of offering a balance to it so you can play with the shotgun and do some close range zombie blasting or get a sniper rifle for long range head shots. I also like how they balanced it with sometimes fighting slow shufflers or sometimes hordes of running zombies attack. They split the balance between fast/slow zombies nicely to appeal to both camps.
I let my X-Box Live lapse after I got tired of being verbally abused by 12 year olds on Halo 2, but I'm actually thinking about starting again to play this on-line.
