What time do you guys plan to get there? Send me a text to let me know the location, etc. I plan to hang out at BooksaMillion for a little bit before and to grab a coffee before the movie to help me stay awake. The boys are having poker night so I want to get out of here.
See ya
Ok Ladies!! Just bought my ticket for the 10:15pm showing. My man even let me put Twilight to the top of our Netflix queue so that I could watch it before New Moon. It arrived today!! Perfect timing!
See you then!!
I love you guys!! Really I do!! I just wish I could quit my job so that I could keep up with how quickly you guys are able to get through books. LOL. I'm still working on Catching Fire and I have City of Bones at my bedside. I just got the note that we're already into November books and City of Ashes. Seriously!! I need more hours in the day!!Awesome choices!! You are so well-organized and I love it.
Just reserved my books through the library. I will pick up Catching Fire at the Deland library tomorrow and I am waiting for City of Bones to become available through the Debary library. Thanks Natasha for your post reminding me that I could check my library again!!!!
I love that this group remembers birthdays. Rosalie, you and Angie are the best at keeping up with this group. I sure wish I was as attentive as the two of you.But I do want to wish you a Happy Birthday, Tracy. I hope you remembered to spoil yourself crazy and bought that book that you didn't buy last time. ( We all have that book we put down because we already bought too many.) GO ahead. Treat yourself. heehee
So sorry I missed this. I've had out of town guests and have been out of the loop. Hope you had a happy birthday!!
Y: the Last Man is an incredible graphic novel by Brian K Vaughan as writer ( he's written a bit for LOST) and artist, Pia Guerra. I'm only on book 4 but it's a great story. A virus has wiped out every last man save for the son of a congresswoman and his pet monkey. It's quite interesting with twists and turns at the most unsuspecting of moments. A true drama via pictures and word balloons. I hope you'll check it out.
I have just a tad to get through before I finish the 4th book. I began re-reading them when I heard Echo was being released this fall. I have Fiery Cross & Breath of Snow on my shelf ready to go when I finish. But I have overcommitted myself to the reading I want to do. I have Drums of Autumn, Y:the last man ( a graphic novel) and Barefoot going right now and a Bob Barker Biography waiting in the wings. I just have too many concurrent reads which is delaying my completion of this series. But I absolutely love the characters and will claim this as my all-time favorite series. Thanks, Rosalie for remembering. lol
Enjoy and I recommend that everyone at least read Outlander and try to not read the rest.
I'm a little bit behind the times, but still wanted to wish you a happy birthday. Hope it's been a great one!!( More flowery sentiments posted on Facebook. lol)
Reference to the disturbing part. Absolutely vile. It's true. But it's fiction and it's making us think about how we would feel and react to that society. But how is it that so many people can night after night hear on the news about the rape and murder and abduction of children? and yet we rarely bat an eye. We'll read the non-fiction books about actual murder and molestation and read about the gory details but don't seemed phased by that vile act. Yes. It bothered me but then again, it's not reality. Maybe I'm not making my point and no offense to anyone but we sometimes react more harshly to fiction that the actual realities of the daily news.Sorry. (And please note that I say we over and over again as I completely and totally include myself in that criticism of our society.)
I have to get mine online. I found it at a great discount through my work's bookstore. Just finished The Hunger Games and was upset I am having to wait several more days before starting it!!Loved it!!
So excited. I just ordered my August books on Half.com. They should be here in a few days. Hunger Games and Barefoot

Beth, Stupid and Contagious sounds like fun. I just picked up a replacement library card and can enjoy the library again. I might have to get it before you find it again!!! HA!!Nicole, what's up woman!!??!! We gotta get together for coffee or tea or something. I got a French Press. YAY!!Oh and to talk books.
Cherise, I really want to read WICKED. I hear the series is awesome and it would be great to see it on stage.
Ok, guys, so I know a lot of you are not into comics and graphic novels, but I picked up League of Extraordinary Gentleman,as well as The Pride of Baghdad and Orbiter. Read Pride and really enjoyed it. True story told in graphic novel form about the lions that escapes from the zoo during the early days of the Iraq War. Told from the Lion's perspective. Just a nice change of gears from Outlander and etc. Drums of Autumn is really picking up and I get to read about an hour each week at the beach.
OH and best news of all!!!! Found out what my boyfriend's favorite author and trilogy of books is and bought them for him to read at the beach. Keeps him from circling around me like a shark when he's ready to go. We get to stay at least an hour longer. YAY!! Oh, his author, R. A. Salvatore. It's a Fantasy series called the Legend of Drizzt. Looks good. They are 4 trilogies within the set of this Legend.
Ok, Later. Have a great Sunday and see you soon!!!!
Kris
