NEW MOON MADNESS (52 new)

8643 I loved the movie! My favorite part was Alice telling Bella she will come back once she "puts the dog out"! Jacob is still not at all appealing to me- although I think Taylor does an amazing job at the character.

8643 Michele I think that is a good theory!

8643 Ok.

I am starting to dislike this book the more time goes on lol.

Since I can be very critical when a book irritates me, I am going to try to keep this review short and simple instead of going into great detail about how annoyed I am.

The writing sucked I thought. The story might be good, if written by someone else? Some of the characters were crap and poorly developed or uninteresting. I was not able to fall into this world at all. It was not believable to me, I did not love any of these characters or even identify with any of them.

Isabelle resembled Rosalie of Twilight to me, but Rosalie was MUCH better developed and made sense. Isabelle being such an evil bitch and then at the end being all "Clary I'm so happy to see you!" was ridiculous.

It seemed as though Jace was somewhat of an Edward wannabe with his occasional quick wit and crazy strength and blah blah blah. But the way he turned into that weak and obeying Jace when Clary found him at Renwicks did not seem to make sense to me at all.

Clary irritated me... she was so normal and then so not normal and then so normal again... another example of what I considered a continuity issue.

I was confused by how some pages would be written so plainly and at like a third grade reading level, and then other pages would be overflowing with crazy adjectives and ideas that didn't seem to fit in with what was going on 2 minutes ago.

This is getting too long.

At the end of the day, I feel as though this author had WAY too many ideas floating around in her head and she needed more pages to completely develop them all and actually take the time to make them make sense and make them believable to some extent.

I have no plans to continue with this series anytime soon. I have a large list and a large bag of books I need to get through. If I am alive when I am 80 and lonely all day with a rocking chair I might finish the series... just so I can die knowing that this series sucked all the way through lol.

The End.

8643 LOL! It did not turn out! You couldn't even tell it was my hair or that it was braided at ALLL. I begged my husband to braid it for me that night- and he refused! (PEETA would not refuse me LOL)

8643 Casey, I just threw up in my mouth too. I have no idea why I dislike that girl so much, but I do not want her- WAY TOO OLD first of all- skaky self around my perfect vision of 16 year old Katniss. PLEASE. LOL Rosalie, Greasy face! HA! We are totally behind you Mckayla!

8643 He CAN NOT compare! I am team Peeta allllll the way. He is on my list of "Fictional characters I would leave my husband for" LOL.... oh... now you've got me thinking about him again dammit!

8643 ********Spoilers******

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm twitching with the thought of waiting so long for the next book... I'm very fresh off of the last page and devouring Oreos trying to compensate for the happy ending feeling, or the "Well at least Peeta is still around" ideal!

There is no question -- (please hold while I chomp on some Oreos)-- ok, no question that Peeta is... (chomp, chomp, whoops- crumbs on the bed...) ok, Peeta is like... (chomp, more crumbs, chomp chomp) OMG WHY CANT MY HUSBAND READ THIS BOOK!!! lololololololl I know perfectly well that I sound like, and probably look like a crazy person right now but I'm feeling a little frantic like Katniss!! I want to stab someone with a syringe if they don't find Peeta and bring him home!

I don't know if I can talk about anything else right now because I am so overwhelmed with my love for Peeta!

What has this series done for/to me... let us count the ways...

1.) I got up at the end of a chapter and washed my face because I hadn't peeled my nose out of the book for like 8 hours or so...

2.) I tried to braid my hair like Katniss at the end of another chapter. Failed Miserably. I should photograph my efforts just for laughs.

3.) Nightmares, but ones that make me wake up with a resolve of some sort... really weird.

4.) I have the urge to teach my boys all kinds of crazy things that they might find useful in the arena. I don't know anything to teach them but I feel as though I should. Like archery... and knot tieing.

5.) I have multiple times fallen asleep to sweet visions and dreams of myself wrapped up by my own Peeta!

6.) I spent idle time imagining a small Mockingjay tattoo and the pros and cons of being such a ridiculous super-fan!

7.) I actually want to live in District 12 where we eat crazy stews and bread and crawl under fences and hunt! My life seems so trivial in comparison...

I will stop myself here before you all stop de-friedning me lol.

I loved this book as you all can tell! I KNOW Peeta is alive and will find a way back to Katniss. I KNOW they will be successful with the resistance and I can't wait to see how it all unfolds in book 3!

8643 I'm all about Ralph Fiennes for Haymitch. PERFECT!!!
Aug 21, 2009 12:33PM

8643 I'm finished!

I loved it!

I want to spend time researching my Katniss, Peeta and Gale... and Rue... I think that the Gale and (Willaim Mosesly?) are good choices!

I liked getting into something a little different. The idea is completely crazy and frightening yet completely believable to me at the same time. It is VERY much like Rome to me, and the Gladitors. It showcased perfectly human instincts and nature and how the children of that era have lived their lives. The Careers in constant training preparing for their chance. District 12 anticipating certain death... Rue and Katniss both being so resourceful and capable of survival... The overwhelming power of the Capitol over the Districts is just screaming for Revolution.

I love Peeta too... He kept growing on me and growing on me each chapter. I fell asleep last night (a few chapters away from finishing the book) dreaming of being wrapped in a sleeping bag with a feverish Peeta of my own lol. I kept imagining Katniss as a mini- Angelina Jolie in Tomb Raider I think.

Ok that is all for now! I am very tempted to go look at that first chapter of CAtching Fire but at the same time, I don't want to drive myself crazy lol.

8643 Ok... my turn! Haha...

I LOVED this movie. It is my favorite Book to Movie that I can recall seeing. The Time Traveler's Wife as a book, is very, very special to me. Just like Twilight! If I could carry it around under my shirt I would! (Stop laughing, all of you!)

I am so THRILLED that I was able to happily seperate the book and the movie and enjoy and love each of them without feeling any disappointment!

The movie I found to be an amazing version of the story and I like how it focused more on Clare and Alba and especially how it cut out the Clare and Gomez thing. ( I hated that too Angie!) Rachel McAdams is still number one on my list of favorite actresses, she was perfect, Eric Bana was great, the Albas were lovely... casting was top notch. I found that watching it all unravel on the big screen was more heartbreaking than reading through it- and I enjoyed how much it pulled my strings and made me cry non stop from about half way through? lol. Really I loved just about everything about the movie!

Perhaps you remember the end of the book, and the letter that Clare finds that Henry has written to her... That letter I read over and over and over again after I finished the book. I cried almost every time. It stole my heart, sealed the deal for me loving the book! I could have used another gallon or so of tears at the end of the movie if that was somehow incorporated- (maybe read by Henry while we see shots of Clare and the rest of her and Alba's lives playing out over the years?) but I am not complaining that it wasn't there either... The movie ending was amazing too. And I was very interested in seeing what 80 year old Clare looked like when Henry showed up, finally!

This one is a Must Purchase as soon as it hits DVD! I can't wait to make Cory watch it and cry my eyes out some more!

8643 Just about everything on Rosalie's list... and Hollie's! The Wedding Singer was one of my first soundtrack purchases, and still one of my favorites :) And did anyone pick Across The Universe?!? That one too is fantastic...

8643 Yes! Rosalie you say this better than me lol. Exactly- it lingers and it starts to grow inside you the more you think about it after you've finished the entire story! I feel more involved with the story the farther away from it I am!! I love THEIR love.

8643 I'm enjoying Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West! It's so completely interesting and crazy and requires you to put in your imagination and open your mind a bit more than most books. I am fairly certain by the end it will go on my "Personal Library" list. And I am determined to see it on broadway one day too :)
Jul 12, 2009 07:49AM

8643 Yes I would! Generally Fridays and Saturdays are my best available times. Nights are even better because Cory gets home and can stay with the boys but I can try to arrange for a babysitter to make a matinee too! I should have Sunday the 23rd off of work though, so if that date comes up I'm good too... I sound really difficult to work with! LOL.

And Hollie- I replied to you in email about your above comment. Keep going ;)

8643 I read something!!!! Finally!!!! The last couple months have been extremely exhausting in my household and I had to abandon my Dracula efforts since I could not keep my eyes open at night long enough to read a few pages before bed as intended. I just KNEW if I started Angels and Demons, I would be captivated and forced to find the time to read it. Dan Brown did not fail me! Love it! Just finished it in time to catch the movie ;) I'm very excited to see Rome on the big screen lol.
