Ok, I finally got a Sony eReader (pocket, navy blue) and I love it!!! Space-saving is one of my biggest issues--we have a 2 bedroom apartment--and also I just like having 350 books in the palm of my hand (well, I'm somewhere around 60 or so, but you know I'll get there eventually).I got the Study Series bundle for a little over $20. ^_^ of course! Even though I have multiple copies of each book :) including the audiobooks, hee hee. I will probably splurge for Twilight bundle too, someday soon.
I got the hard case because I tend to be careless with things and I don't want to be kicking myself when I drop or scratch it (potentially to be averted by having the case, phew.)
The thing I have been most impressed with aside from graphics (I read Black Hole the graphic novel on my Sony Reader) is how many books you can get for free. I downloaded ePubs for a bunch of the classic must-haves (Austen, Bronte, Carroll--you know) and the book I was going to buy the same day we bought the Reader--Monstrumologist--was available free from the eBookstore!
Also, and I haven't had the chance to try this out yet, but I will soon, Los Angeles Public Library has a great digital library service--yeah! you check out the book and when you're done you click "return borrowed material" and it returns it to their library electronically so someone else can check it out.

Go vote! To be fair, I'm not telling you who to vote for. ^_^ but you can probably guess who I voted for.
hee hee.
Didn't miss it, Mindy! The longer thread is under Ask Maria, but they're not discussing it in depth. I'm going to mark this topic "with spoilers", though. ^_^ Thanks for taking the initiative to start a thread!Re: reminders, I think they are for people who have not read the other books at all, though why people think that they can just jump into the middle of a series and enjoy a book without really understanding what they're reading--it baffles me!
^_^ Yes, I knew! I wanted it to be a surprise for the people who know me so I didn't tell anyone until it came out. Yep, that's me! And I *wish* I owned a book shop, it would be such a cool place!
I loved Demon's Lexicon!! In YA I don't think there are quite as many boy-friendly books as girl-friendly (although you, Kyle, seem to have a fairly cosmopolitan taste in books). Yay, you!
Stephanie wrote: "Alethea I love that you said Aiden Turner. He is so very sexy!! I am a huge Being Human fan. I also love Ray to. Then again Rome is the best. "Yay! Oh yeah and I just realized I contradicted myself in the previous post, so I fixed it. I do always get A & J mixed up in my head, I keep needing to word-associate Ari with "hairy" as in curly golden locks!
Ooh, I don't know if he's a bit too old for this, but I've always pictured Ray Stevenson as Ari. Or, well, I guess he's ok for Janco too. Here he is as gladiator/ex-legionnaire Titus Pullo in Rome:
I think the description of Janco is vague enough that he doesn't have to be like, 20 years old. Stevenson is 45, and I think makeup can make him look at least 10 years younger. He's definitely got the Janco build.
His hair is straight and kind of golden-brown but I did always think that Ari's curly locks were too long to be military, so I think they'd get away with just lightening up his 'do, so he'd make a decent Ari also as long as the Janco they got was a lot slimmer.
LOL! Actually, you beat most of the players by a hair!Winner #1 : Jennifer user# 2417583
Congratulations!
Oh, and recruiting a member put you over the top--BTW if anyone else recruited a member and they didn't message me as stated above, I think you're out of luck--we're past the extra day I gave you guys to notify me.
That means Prize #2 is being released to the general GR public for a giveaway...
Ok, how about Toby Stephens--not exactly the traditional handsome guy--but definitely tough and cold-looking:
I've just been watching the new Jane Eyre (Masterpiece Theatre) and he has icy, supercilious Mr. Rochester down pat. I like it better than Ciaran Hinds's earlier rendition, who seemed much too jovial and nice to his ward than this one, who is pretty mean, but in a well-meaning way.

Hiya! I'll get it for you ^_^
Hey! Is everyone away from the Internets, or something? Hardly anyone playing this time around...I'll count any posts that happen until midnight (Pacific) tonight for the first contest, and if any of you guys recruited new members, I didn't get any emails from them! If that's correct we'll put the other prize out to the general GR for giveaway.
See you at midnight!
Well, we'll just have to sell out of the first run ASAP! (we are sold out of Poison Study YA and almost out of the adult Poison Study too--have been for *ages*--at least since June? And status on my screen says "awaiting publisher reprint"--well! Hop to it, Mira!
