I read Physick book of Deliverance Dane. It dealt with a present day Harvard student who is researching about a certain woman executed during the Salem Witch trials, it coincides with the story of the Salem trials. I liked the parts about the trials and the book kept me interested, but I felt the present day story was a bit predictable. I am also reading the Crucible with my students which is why I chose to read the book.
3 stars
Finished E- Eyes Like Stars by Lisa Mantchev and now I am reading a book that most definitely does not start with an A. :(
I read Body Surfing by Anita Shreve. I enjoy her writing style, but this wasn't my favorite of hers. I also read Girl with a Pearl Earring. That I thoroughly enjoyed.
Ha! I can definitely work within a six year time frame. Once I start back to teaching it's all over for me... I think I'll join Slayermel though and aim for before Christmas!
I also read The Time Traveler's Wife and I am saddened to say that I didn't fall in love with it like so many people did. I am not sure if its me, because a lot of what I am reading is falling flat lately, but I really lacked the connection with the characters to motivate me to keep on reading. I felt it was a bit drawn out also.

I also just typed the word Beach in the search on GoodReads and came up with a lot of books.
Hmm, well I am planning on reading Time Traveler's Wife in August and I also have sworn to myself that I am going to finally read Pride and Prejudice (bows head in shame) so I will start there.
This is a tentative list, based on what I own, except for the first book, but it may change based on mood/library picks in the mean time.

Yes I am going on Monday. I really loved the book, so I don't expect the movie to compare, but I want to see what it's like anyway.
I read My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult. It was a sad story of two sisters, one with leukemia and one birthed to be her donor. The book raises some serious questions and is bound to leave the reader torn. I gave it five stars.
I am going to also read To Kill A Mockingbird. I have actually never read it before and I could possibly teach it next year, so it's time.
Ok now that I am off for the summer I can finally participate again. I am going to start with My Sister's Keeper, since I want to see the movie, but I have to read the book first and then see what else I stumble across.
I have a few options on my shelf at home, but I am going to try to read The Book Of Lost Things, because I have wanted to read that forever. If I have time I may also read The Time Traveller's Wife.
Ok I finished Blue is for Nightmares, but I am not really interested in reading the rest right now, so I am going to read the following:
Lament by Maggie Stiefvater
The Summoning by Kelly Armstrong
Ink Exchange by Melissa Marr
and possibly re-read Speak.
