Yay!! Paranormal seems to be my new favorite genre for past year. I have so many to choose from.Storm Front since I'm already 30 pages in.
The Fury and Dark Reunion
Interview With the Vampire
I see that a lot of you are reading Dead Until Dark. Enjoy! It's one of my favorite series and I can't wait for the next book to come out in May.
I love the Sookie Stackhouse books!! They're amazing and it has been exciting watching them unfold on True Blood on HBO. I love watching what they do with the characters, but I love the books much more. I can't believe we have to wait until next May for the next book!
No worries Lyn. Did you see Angels and Demons the movie yet?? I was wondering what you thought of the movie compared to the book?
Lyn wrote: "Sis - It is from a book called The Complete Idiot's Guide to the Ultimate Reading List. Someone posted it in my HF group and I thought it was good. Chelsea - I agree with Lynne, ..."
I knew Angels and Demons came first and I think that was part of the reason why I had put off reading DaVinci Code until I finished Angels and Demons. I really enjoyed Angels and Demons, so I'm looking forward to this book. Thanks!!
There are so many books to choose from this month, but I think my pick is The Da Vinci Code. I still can't believe I haven't read it!! With school just starting, I think I'll stick with this book and hopefully I can finish by the end of the month.
Tara wrote: "I read The Next Mrs. Blackthorne and gave it 3 stars. This book was like watching a soap opera. It was highly entertaining and focused on two rival families in Texas. Its main story..."
Yes, Jennifer. I'd love to hear what you think. I really want to read this book before seeing the movie, which will be hard to do. The movie looks so good!!
Melissa wrote: "I just read Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas. For a romance, this was pretty good. It was a very sweet story. Probably not the best for me to read certain parts while I'm at work, thinki..."I'm really glad you enjoyed the book. I really like it and it was surprising to me that is came from James Patterson. I love his murder mysteries, so that book came to a surprise to me.
I read Sundays at Tiffany's and gave it three stars. It was a very sweet book and a quick read, but it wasn't one of Patterson's best.I wanted to read Wuthering Heights, but I was much too busy to focus on it and I'm planning on reading it during winter break.
Lynne wrote: "Okay, as I said in my other post...I knew I would find a ton of books on this shelf that I wanted to read, even though romance is the genre I like the least. The shelf really has a lot of variety...."
Did you like Dead Until Dark?? Are you hooked?
I love this genre! Thank you!!! My pick for this month is Wuthering Heights. I'm so excited!
I recommend Message in a Bottle to anyone that hasn't read it. One of my favorites by Nicholas Sparks.
Lyn wrote: " A Walk to Remember a true Nicholas Sparks book, sweet, sentimental, and sad at the end. I gave the book three stars. I picked this book because the movie is one of my favorite movies..."
I completely agree with you!! It was cute, but it doesn't touch The Notebook or Message in a Bottle. By the way, what's with the movie, Message in a Bottle. The movie did not do that book justice at all, in my opinion. Have you read The Wedding?
I just finished The Kite Runner. It was absolutely amazing!! What a powerful story of redemption. I loved it from beginning to end. I just finished it 5 mintues ago and I still can't believe it's over. Can't wait to see the movie!

I've read 23 so far, but there are so many on that list that I want to read. I loved Tuesdays with Morrie An Old Man, a Young Man, and Life's Greatest Lesson and I Know This Much Is True, and I wish they were on the list.
Great choice Tara! I can't wait to get started and I have a few choices...The Kite Runner
The Secret Life of Bees
The Da Vinci Code
Lyn wrote: "Boy is that an understatement, Luann, at least where I am concerned. Hey Chelsea -- welcome to the group. I am Lynne's sister (don't be confused by the name, my name is actually Carolyn, but I us..."
Hey Lyn! I teach social studies at Harden. Nice to meet you. She got me hooked on bejeweled too!
Hi! I'm Chelsea and I'm 24...almost 25. I'm newly married and I'm a teacher in California. I'm a friend of Lynne's and she's got me hooked on Goodreads. The genre I enjoy reading are mystery/suspense, romance, and fantasy. Can't wait to read more!!
I just finished The Catcher in the Rye.
Reading and hearing so much about this book, I knew it was one I needed to read. I feel like I would have related more to the book if I had read it in high school or early on in college. It definitely brought up memories from my teenage years. I also grew annoyed with Holden, which may be in part with my age. I also can recall moments in the book where I was laughing out loud. I recommend this book because it truely is a classic.
"The Catcher in the Rye" has been on my list to read for so long! I'm so glad I finally have the time to read it. Thanks Lynne for suggesting this group!
