Dark Lover by J.R. Ward - 4 starsI loved the story but really wish the misogyny could be toned down a bit. I have to admit, it got better as the book went on but it was so bad in the beginning I almost gave up on the book entirely. I'm hoping the rest of the series is a bit more female friendly.
Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead4 Stars
This book really ended up surprising me. It started off kind of slow but really picked up about 1/4 of the way in and ended up being a great read.
No Humans Involved by Kelley Armstrong5 stars
The 7th book in the Women of the Otherworld series. One of my favorite series and this installment completely lived up to those before it.
I'm like Kelley, this is my list today but it could very well change tomorrow lol1. The Twilight Series by Stephenie Meyer (these are my feel good book which is why I often skip the entire middle of New Moon)
2. The Women of the Otherworld Series by Kelley Armstrong (I think I could read this series a thousand times and not get tired of it)
3. The Sookie Stackhouse Series by Charlaine Harris (What can I say, I'm a vampire addict and this series provides one of my strongest fixes)
4. The Harry Potter Series by JK Rowling (Too much fun not to have with me)
5. Little Brother by Cory Doctorow (My obligatory techno geek book)
Okay so I ended up getting 28 books in my list of 5 lol. I know I cheated but most of my favorites are series and I can't imagine just picking one book from each series.
I'm not sure I could ever do 500 in a year, that's like a book and a half a day! 200 seems doable if your a heavy reader, I'd love to reach 200 this year.
I'm doing some challenges in the Book Challenge Group as well.I'm doing 75 books from 12/25/08 - 12/25/09
Done so far:

6. Howl by Allen Ginsberg
7. Industrial Magic by Kelley Armstrong
8. Lord of Misrule by Rachel Caine

Lord of Misrule by Rachel Caine - 4 StarsThis is another one of those series where the story draws me in and I read the book in one sitting because I just have to know what happens next. And the cliffhanger endings just kill me when I can't get the next book right away.
As much as I love the story, I have to only give it 4 stars because the writing is only so so.
Lots of surprises in this one that I really wasn't expecting. I won't say more so as not to spoil but I can't wait for the next one to find out what happens next.
Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer - 4 starsUpon my second reading of this I had to take it from 5 stars to 4. All three main characters are a bit annoying though they all become less so by the end of the book. Jacob especially bugs me with his whole quest to make Bella realize she loves him. And all of Edward's attempts at keeping her away from La Push. It's all too macho, I know what's best, patronization. I love the beginning and end of the series but the middle slouches a bit imo.
I'm already in the middle of re-reading the Twilight series. I'm about to finish Eclipse and start Breaking Dawn.I've also been meaning to read the Golden Compass so I may also try to give that series a go this month.
I got fantasy which is the majority of what I read, more specifically paranormal. I also really enjoy sci-fi and figure it was a close second.
