Lyn, I am delighted that the cookbook has been of use to your family, it's definitely been one of my favourite things to be able to share here as well to be honest. We make the chocolate self saucing pudding nearly every weekend (and it tastes exactly like the real thing). Pick 'a' Shelf helped us share the love of the pudding Lyn!!!!!

You won't be sorry Lahni, it's really very special!......unbelievably sad & heart stoppingly scary. So authentic, I was right there with Dana every step of the way.

8565 1. What have I enjoyed most about this group? Without qn it has to be the people - I know it sounds sucky but as Lahni has stated above (& she's right onto it) - there is a lovely positive dynamic to the group.

2. Favourite book that I owe completely to Pick a Shelf is Kindred By Octavia E. Butler, I fluked it for Science Fiction month, as I had nothing on my Mt.Bedsidetable for that genre. I LOURVED it and now am working my way through Octavia's complete collection. YOU HAVE TO ADD THIS BOOK TO YOUR LISTS!!!!!!

3. For favourite challenge - Shelf
a Thon was the best & if we EVER do it again, (here, here, Sunflower) it will be too soon!!!!!!!!!

Will come back and answer the rest later have run out of time........xxxxxxx

8565 I read We Need To Talk About Kevin By Lionel Shriver. Found this quite hard going generally - which is no surprise due to the subject matter, but even more so during the first 100 pages or so due to the abstract vocab she chose to use for the narrator's voice the lead character Eva, the Mother of the infamous teenager/teen murderer, Kevin. Once I got beyond the show off language, I was completely sucked into Eva's brutal portrayal of parenthood to a child that is impossible to define. For a story that was all but spelled out on the cover, it reads surprisingly like a thriller, really well done - fantastic group read as you either love the characters or hate them, but you'll find it exceedingly hard not to talk about Kevin. 4 & a bit Stars ****+

8565 Finished One Day By David Nicholls a couple of days ago. Really enjoyed it - love this kind of structure to a book with short stories that make up the greater whole. The Story is of Dex & Em, Em & Dex. Two young people who meet the day of their graduation and live the next 20 years on that same day every year. Sits around 3 1/2 to 4 Stars.
