8565 Very cool! Thanks for sharing, Kazza. I have this problem, too. But then I find that I sometimes interrupt people who are reading so I can ask what they are reading. :) So even though it bothers me when people do it, I sometimes can't stop myself from doing it, too. So I try to be patient when people ask about my book - not as patient if they just want to talk. :)

8565 I read the most-abandoned book on GR (or at least it's been marked as abandoned by more people than any other book): The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I'm SO glad I finally got around to reading it - although I did have a few reservations about it. My review here.

Book: The Girl Who Played With Fire

But at least I'm enjoying reading great books!
8565 I'm going to just plan on one so that I'll (hopefully!) finish it - this time! :) I started Oliver Twist a few years ago and got more than half way through when I got distracted with other books and stopped. I always planned to go back and finish, but I never have. Now I have it on my Kindle and as an audiobook, so I really have no excuse, right? :)

ETA: Also, it's been so long since I read the first half that I'm going to start over from the beginning.

8565 Hi, Maggie and Kauthar. Welcome!

8565 I just finished The Akhenaten Adventure, which is also on my LOST list! I gave it 3.5 stars. Read my review here.

Last week I read Enclave, which was chosen for me in the Pick-a-Book Chain Gang. I need to post there, too! I gave it 3 stars - although it really did have a lot of 4-star moments. Maybe I should go up to 3.5? Read my review here.

8565 Great pick, Bea! Maybe it's time for me to finally finish Oliver Twist! :)

8565 From page 46 of Enclave:

I took a step into the room, intending to check out the place, when side movement caught my eye. I whirled, knives slipping into my palms. The other girl did the same. When I froze, she did.

The mirrors I'd seen had all been tiny and, most of them, cracked. Though I knew I had brown hair and gray eyes, I'd never seen a full-sized reflection of myself before.

Yes, I thought that, too. It's easy to see the humor from the safety of my armchair and the impersonal distance of a book. :)

Wasn't it just hilarious, Adrienne? Jon Scieszka and his brothers are quite the characters!

8565 I read Murder Shoots the Bull by Anne George for square seven (free read). I gave it two stars, which now feels a bit harsh. But I just didn't enjoy it as much as the other Southern Sisters mysteries. You can read my full review here.
