853 Erin, Thanks for reminding me of this thread! Did I create it? I so don't rememeber if I did. Anyway, I WON!!! My first year, first win. At 50,069, I'm not even close to finishing the novel itself, but I made it to the finish line! woo!

853 oops!!!! I made a new topic. grrrrr. Slap me with a ruler please, but go easy. Anyway, I'd love to commisserate with all of you fellow NaNo-ers. Like I said, I am a newbie so any advice or encouragement would be much appreciated.

853 I have signed up and have bought a mug, so there's no going back now. Anyone else doing it this year? If not, has anyone done it in the past? Any sage advice for a newbie? :)

853 I tried NaNoWriMo a year ago and failed miserably. I still hope to make the goal one of these days. It's not about quality for me, as I am terrified of writing fiction. I just want to be able to say I accomplished it. I have not signed up for this year. I guess I could, though I have no plan at all. If any of you do try it, please let me know how it's going. :)

853 This has given me inspiration. Like it says in the link, you need not be a religious person to benefit from this message. I've written 10 single spaced pages since I read it 2 days ago. I hope it inspires some of you as well. :)

853 hey robert,

jack, on will and grace, used to say "MARY LOUISE PARKER!!!" or "JENNIFER LOVE HEWITT!!! " whenever he was surprised or excited. i know there are other funny things he used to squeal in feminine delight, and i'll have to think on it and get back to you. :)

853 OK i just Googled it, and the description on Wiki is very scientific. So if anyone knows a layman's definition, I'd appreciate it.

853 Does anyone know what ACTH is? I know Flannery O'Connor receives (and gives herself) injections of it, and I am pretty sure the C stands for Cortisone? I am a medication nut, so it's driving me crazy not knowing.

Thanks!

853 I can't stand the phrase "That's so gay!" People (teens) use it to refer to anything they don't like. It's insulting and it makes me angry.
