I get what you mean Emily. Sorry, I didn't mean to start anything... it's just that if I got a little offended, I would guess that other people might be too. Thanks for clarifying though! =)
As far as being Christian and reading about vampires, dragons, etc...I'm the biggest Harry Potter fan in the world and I'm a pretty hardcore Christian. I think that the Harry Potter books have many of the same themes as the Narnia books, so I hate when Christians accept one and reject the other. Anyway, I don't think fantasy in any way is "evil". I believe that God gave us the ability to be creative and we're using it! I don't see the problem.
Haha! I love it. I've definitely gone through that, and I still come across books that I think "Well...technically I suppose it's this genre, but not really...do I have to create another bookshelf?" I also wish I was more creative with the titles of my bookshelves...so yeah. I think about it much more than I really should. Haha.
I realize that this topic is one in which many people are likely to be offended, so I expect that, but I still must say that I'm a little offended by the fact that you're comparing believing in God to believing in the Flying Spaghetti Monster or an invisible, intangible African elephant.
It's so sad. In high school, concerts were my life and we would go to one probably every other weekend. Now it seems like I just don't have the time (or the money) to go to any. I think it's been probably a year since my last and that one was Sanctus Real. I've got to get to more! I've been thinking about going to the Blink reunion tour...that would be pretty awesome.
So far, I've discovered two: Michael Sullivan and Bryce Anderson. Michael Sullivan wrote The Crown Conspiracy, which is an awesome adventure type fantasy novel. It's the first in a six part series (at least I think it's six...) The second one just came out called Avempartha. Bryce Anderson wrote a novel called Body of Knowledge, which is also pretty awesome.
Jennifer, I am totally going to make that Mexican Casserole today, so hopefully mine turns out as awesome as yours!
I think with Rob Pattinson, people are just attracted to that dark and mysterious vampire type guy and are thus attracted to him because he plays one in a movie. I never really understood the attraction either, but I have to admit that I thought he was a bit more attractive after seeing the movie...

Yeah, I was going to say Waiter Rant too. I've heard that it's really funny. Another book that guys really seem to like is I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell...
Jess, I feel the same way, only I'm a Midwestern girl. I'm living in California now for school and because my boyfriend wants to become an actor, but this definitely is not my first choice.
We do have a lot of people in this group from California though and a lot of people that go to Berkeley! I've got a couple friends that go there, and I can't wait to visit!
There was this commercial during the show one time and it was for the Hanso Foundation or something and it had a number to call. So you really had to be scrutinizing everything like crazy just to notice it, because it was between all the other commercials. And then I think there were websites to go to based on the information you got on the phone...I think all of this was a few years back though.
I thought Kristen Stewart was awesome in Panic Room, but I haven't really seen anything else she's been in besides Twilight...
Lost definitely had that kind of thing going for awhile too. I remember having to call certain phone numbers and whatnot to figure out clues...
