8361 Jen, I love accounting. Obviously since I do it every day. I guess class always depended upon who was teaching it. I have had horrid teachers and wonderful teachers. I am sorry you aren't enjoying it.

8361 All 4 of my current classes would qualify. I think they all were a complete waste of time. Not extremely difficult but oh so boring! Only a week left though! Yay!

8361 Update on the student from San Luis Obispo. They found his body on some mountain after they had found his bike and backpack. It appears to have been suicide. So sad, especially around the holiday season.

8361 Laura Bush: An Intimate Portrait of the First Lady by Ronald Kessler.

Okay, I am not a republican, or a democrat, or any party affiliate. I enjoyed the book until they arrived at the White House. She was a caring person that the author showed would pretty much bend over backwards and help whoever she could. But then....when they arived at the White House, the Clinton bashing began. Either she wasn't as loving as the author said, or the author had his own opinions, and Mrs. Bush didn't censor him like she had others within the book.

You don't have to agree with the presidents actions or policies, but isn't it best to show some respect! Especially when you complain about not being showed the same respect. UGH!

8361 The fourth book (The Necromancer) of the series by Michael Scott is due out May 2010 and book 3 of the Hunger Games series is due out August 2010.

So long to wait! :(
8361 I recently started Dracula (I know, I am way behind on group reads) and was wondering if anyone else imagined Keanu Reeves while they were reading it?

My sister LOVED the movie when it came out, so it really is the only exposure I have had to the story. And that was so long ago I really don't remember it, except that he is who played Jonathan.

8361 I totally agree, it is half way over today and it already seems like 2 forevers!

8361 Kimberly, one time I bought $10 worth of pennies rolled up(that was our $ limit) and wrapped them up. Noone had any idea what the present was from the weight, but most of them liked the idea of an extra $10 for a gift.

Melissa, that would possible help you hide the actual identity of gifts too. Adds a lot of weight, and could totally throw them off. :)

8361 Did anyone see her on Ellen? So funny.

8361 I am not sure how we would actually be able to determine this one, but I thought it would be an interesting idea.

Choose a book written by someone age 16 or younger.

I saw something that was being released that mentioned the author was 16. It would be interesting to see how great (or bad) a young writer can be.

8361 I have a journal, an essay, a final 15-ish page paper, and 2 tests left! Yay! The only thing that may be a bit of a challenge is finalizing the 15 page paper. That teacher created her own MLA fomatting, so even if we follow the instructions in the book, she marks it wrong. :) So fun!

8361 Wow! Lots of tough things happening.

Lori, looks like you are tight with Murphy. I am so sorry, hopefully things will get better.

SBG, it wasn't a sibling, but I have a handful of cousins that are always in and out of jail. Concealed weapons, evading arrest, etc. but mostly just being stupid. I think that should be the actual law: "you are arrested for being stupid."
I am going to contradict Gene here for a minute. Our local jail is where most of their sentences (months or years) have been spent. I think it may be because we house some of the state inmates, but it isn't a prison. And they usually tend to be a bit more lenient on the first time offenders, but it does change case to case. Hopefully things will get better.
I also totally agree with Jamie. Try to find something to accomplish that makes you feel challenged. Or since it is the season, volunteer somewhere to help others. Hopefully then you can give the blah's a kick.

Adriana, sorry your sister is having such a rough time with this pregnancy. I wish I could say something that would help, but all I can think of is to try to be there for her when you can. You have to worry about yourself too.

8361 I am envious too Kelly! 81 sounds like heaven compared to the 40 it is here. Well, today is sunny, so it probably will be a bit warmer, but not near as warm as it should be. :)

8361 Don't know if I have strong enough will power to refrain from opening a package that I know contains a book. :)

8361 Snow is just another 4 letter word! We are supposed to get between 2-4 inches today, but to make things worse, it has been raining since about 3 this morning, so if it does snow, we will have the inch or two of ice below it, and NO ONE here knows how to drive in snow.
8361 Kimberly, there should be something great out there for any of those. My little sister loves the Bee Gees. Kind of wigs people out, they say she is too young. :)

8361 Didn't we also post our guess as to who the secret santa was last year? Or did we do another thread for all that? I can't remember.

8361 Wow, so sad. I can't imagine what people think half the time.
