Fall is definitely my favorite season. The things I look forward to the most are:- the changing leaves
- the layers (the fashionista in me)
- the smell of firewood
- hot drinks (ie, hot chocolate, tea, coffee...)
Here's a recent pic of my street in Brooklyn... Trust me, there are tons more leaves on the ground since I've taken this photo, lol
Ahhhh, Jamie, you know me oh-so well :)Why am I just now seeing this thread??! I am OBSESSED w/fashion! Sadly, since entering grad school my intake of clothes & magazines has decreased...
BUT, I did just splurge on a new pair of steve madden stilettos that I am in ♥ with!
what do we think???
To be honest, It's taken all of my might not to wear these babies to sleep!!
I love Charles Bukowski. There's something about the raw, realism about his work that amuses me.
I personally write free-form poetry as a way to purge my feelings, and his poems are so opposite from what I write that I think that is the exact reason for why I love him so much.
I don't really read a lot of poetry, but I've been wanting to get into it, mostly as a way to help develop my own skills. I have a feeling, though, that aside from Bukowski the type of poems I would be drawn to would be love sonnets...
What can I say, I'm a closet romantic. Crap. Lol
Kimberly-- lol he has his shirt off? Okay, if that doesn't SCREAM creeper, then I don't know what does. Haha!I also heavily screen my GR friends... Unless they're from a group I'm in, I usually click the "compare books" button & scan what books they've read. I'm actually considering upping my security by adding a question when people want to friend-request me.
Facebook has gone astray, and I'll be damned if I let that happen to GR!!
New York!! I'm in NYC, Jamie! You could've helped me procrastinate on all the homework I have due! haha. Hope you had a good time!
Yay! I got my CD mixes today! I know what I'll be listening to tonight while procrastinating homework! :)
It has been AGES since I've been on GoodReads and this group and I must say, I've missed you guys! :/ I'm in Grad school for journalism and it has been kicking my ass!
Tonight is the first time I've been able to get on and go through threads and it's comforting.
Even though I haven't been able to comment as often as I'd like, I need to get back into the habit so that I can try to maintain some sort of outside "social" life and not crack under pressure!
Anyway, just wanted to put that out there and say I haven't forgotten about you ladies and thanks for keeping things running so that I had something to come back and look at when the time came :)
I will try to be more active now that I've finished reading past threads... maybe starting with the monthly read???
:o)
I haven't gotten my CDs yet... I'm eager for some new music, especially since things have been crazy for me lately. Kimberly- just to make sure, you sent them to my NY address, yes? If not, let me know so I can tell my mom to keep a look out for them in GA
Annie looks like she's finally fallen off the deep end. The guilt from her accident is obviously killing her and has changed her into a moody recluse. I love dixon but I think that he doesn't need to be w/silver...
silver, adriana, & naomi? hm, I guess. at least theyre all friends- for now
I love navid... i feel bad for him that he tried to be romantic and set the scene for adriana, but she didn't even get to see it
as for her ex boyfriend, tennis guy (whatever his name is) he seems like a friggin trouble maker! first he "accidentally" tells dixon about silver & ethan, then he acts all holier than thou when he uses his fathers name to get out of trouble- ugh!
finally, liam is back! i thought he was hot, and misunderstood. I hope it gets out that he DIDN'T sleep w/annie, and that it was the sister
all new season and i'm already addicted (again) haha :o)
I'm with you, Lori. They always make the dramatic parts in previews seem more heavy than they actually are. I was a bit disappointed with the finale- nothing was left hanging on a cliff, like most. It just seemed like another middle-season episode.
While I'm eager to see the new season in January, I'm relieved it's over now so now I don't feel obligated to blow off my homework to watch it... haha!
Haha, I'm with you, Lori. I love the show, but it's getting to be over the top and I can't stop watching! Therefore, with it being off, I'll be broken of the curse and temptation to watch it.My thoughts (though many have said the same thing):
Amy is a spoiled, whiny, brat! You had a baby! Since when does that make you entitiled?
I love her sister Ashley. She's one of the few characters who has their head on straight. I also am liking Ricky a lot. People are giving him grief still, even though HE's the one who's taking responsibility and growing up
I'm sort of glad Ben found someone else. Regardless of if he really cheated or not, Amy has taken him for granted and it's good to see him finally figuring out what makes him happy. Amy deserves to be alone to see how she's been mistreating people
Let's see how things end tomorrow...

It's really new to me and I'm just getting the hang of it, so feel free to stop ..."
Great blog Jacqueline! I love how you shamelessly plugged GR into one of your posts :)
PS- I'm with you on the circus cruelty. I've only been once long time ago when I was still a kid and even then I knew I would never go to one again. 15 years later and I still haven't been to one

I, too, am moved into a new apartment... In New York! Plus I have cable & internet, which sweetens the deal.Classes don't start for another week, so I will be spending my free time getting used to my surroundings and exploring the city.
I'm with you Lori and Emily- doesn't it feel awesome to have a space all to yourself? I'm so relieved to be able to come home and not have someone sleeping in the same room as me. Enjoy!
Jess wrote: "Wow! Anastasia, that's an insanely long class. What is it?"
Its a "Craft" class, which means that you basically learn/apply all things journalistic. Lots of writing, editing, researching, etc... I'm getting tired just thinking about it! Hopefully it won't be that bad, though. I'm feeling optimistic... for now
I also like the one we have now... but I also like the cartoon drawing. haha. Its funny in an ironically realistic way
I'll be starting my first semester in grad school for my masters in journalism. I'm only taking 4 classes but the program is intense! I have one class that lasts from 9-5! Can you imagine?! That's a full time job, haha. I'll need plenty of coffee to get me through the day...
I don't want anyone to think I skimped on the CDs I made- I only put 13 on the CD because I know some CD players don't read mp3 CDs so I made mine a regular CD. Old fashion, but just being cautious :-/
