Thanks, Laurel. I was delighted with the review, mostly with the word 'Bradburyesque'. :) I do think the one word covers a lot of my book. I myself think of my work as 'Mayberry meets the Twilight Zone'.I just saw a Thorndike large print edition of one of my books listed as Thorndike Clean Reads. Makes me grin.

What a great review Publisher's Weekly wrote about your book, 'Chin Up Honey'. 'delightful as lemony sweet tea'. What a lovely picture that brings up. All the best with the book. Laurel"
We still do live in a male-dominated society, and there are still women who do not just sit around and bemoan their fate but go after what we want in life. The novels written through the ages to demonstrate this help those of us who come after. Fiction has given me encouragement and the reason I myself became a writer of books. I look forward to checking out your books.

The facts are different for each of us, but the emotions are the same. Your book will surely be a blessing. How wonderful of you to write it, and thanks for letting us know of it.Pamela wrote: "Why I wrote, "How I Became A Fearless Woman."

Hi, All~I have enjoyed reading so many of the posted announcements of interesting books! My TBR list grows. Let me add my own.
My latest novel CHIN UP, HONEY, was released in June. It is women's fiction and #7 of a series of books set in the fictional small town of Valentine, Oklahoma. Each book can be read alone.
Publisher's Weekly said: "...a Bradburyesque vision with drugstore soda fountains, old-timey radio shows filling the airwaves and a cast of characters who wouldn't be out of place in Lake Wobegon. Matlock conjures a sweet spell accented by tart drama, as refreshing and delightful as a lemony sweet tea."

Thanks! Keep the announcements coming, y'all.
Thanks so much for the word on your book--DAVID JANSSEN-MY FUGITIVE. I would like to read it, and think it would also make a great gift book for those of us in the 'boomer' generation. CurtissAnn

Rebecca wrote: "Thank you so much. It's quite easy to become despondent when those emails keep slaying your dragon. Thanks for the encouragement."Oh, you must not give up, no matter what. That is part and parcel of being a writer. Here is a story that helped me years ago in the beginning:
Marjorie Holmes, a bestselling writer of the 60s-80s, wrote a novel of Biblical fiction, "Two for Gallilee". Such fiction was not all that popular at the time. She was rejected by every publisher-- and in those days there were no computers. She had to retype or copy pages crumple by the many readings. Finally she began using the manuscript as a booster for one of her toddlers! It was years, and then one day, she looked at it, cleaned it up, sent it out, and a publisher bought it! Became a NYT bestseller, still in print today, and a lovely novel.
So keep on-- don't you quit!
