Hi D.B. Thanks for referring me to your blog. Seems we are both on the same page. I too will email private feedback to those that I don't review. It's nice that you have done editing for free.

8255 In the interest of promoting our work I'm available to review author's books. Since my aim is oriented toward author promotion I will not review books which I consider to merit less than three stars. I will post the review on goodreads as well as on my website.

I prefer non-fiction - especially that which is very thoughtful. Fiction is also a possibility including adult fantasy and science fiction as well as a classical type writing.

8255 How about that - a writer that wants to publish but is afraid of success. I guess I need to get over that character flaw.

So is twitter effective? Has it helped anyone sell books? Please let me know. If I were to use twitter is there any particular advice you would give me on setting it up?

How can I participate in your twitters. I hate to say it but I guess I've fallen behind the times

8255 This is a mighty long thread. I'd like to be tagged and tag others. Where do I start? When I tag you do i start a new tag or do I just tag the ones that are there? My book on Amazon is "The Yoga Party: Philosophical Writing." When I find out a little more about tagging I'll start tagging you.

Thanks

8255 You are all very kind to have said what you have said. It was just what I needed at just the right time.

Thank You

8255 My book was deleted from the bookshelf on the Philosophy Group. Apparently this was because it was self-published.

The moderator asked me a couple of times to start a Asian Thought topic so I decided to do it as it is central to my interests. I mainly decided to do this because of his insistence. I then realized it would bring exposure to my book which deals with Asian as well as world Philosophy. I offered him a free copy of my book which he refused. I offered it to him so he could see what it was.

He said I couldn't promote my book there which I said was fine that I hadn't intended to directly promote it there but I told him that my own ideas would come out in the process of the group (this I couldn't help). He repeated that I could not promote my book there which I told him that I told him already I wasn't. He told me only to discuss "Philosophical Issues" which seemed to imply that mine weren't. Feeling that he would micro-manage me and perhaps delete my posts I deleted the topic on Asian Thought and left the group. My book is titled "The Yoga Party: Philosophical Writings" for anyone that is wondering.

I subsequently revisited the group and was to find out he (well someone did - I think probably him) deleted my book from the bookshelf.

I deleted the books mostly the Asian Thought books I contributed to the bookshelf for my topic.

To me this whole thing smacks of censorship. I am very disappointed by this whole thing as I consider myself an expert in the field.

How would you handle this? Does this seem like censorship to you? Has anything similar happened to you? Feedback is appreciated.

8255 HI Sean,

I'm glad you are taking this so well. I'll think of your magnanimity when I get my first bad review (which I hope isn't my first one).
