7742 74) The Uninvited. I had a really hard time rating this book, choosing between the 3 star 'I like it' and the 4 star 'I really liked it'. I wanted a 3.5 star 'I really liked it, but...' option.

First the positives. This book kept me on my toes. It was fast paced and easy to read. I eagerly waited for time in which to finish it. The plot line itself is sound and interesting. It kept me guessing till the end.

Now the negatives. The characters were a bit flat. The two who I think I was supposed to find the most likeable, I didn't like all that much. The character I think I wasn't supposed to like all that much I did. And I found one smaller, supporting character (Iris) to be more likeable and more developed than the others.

Without revealing spoilers, I kept hoping for a certain outcome throughout the book which I did not get. That in itself is not a problem, but the ending left me only somewhat satisfied.

Don't get me wrong. This was a fun book. Just didn't quite live up to my expectations.

Have you heard A Fine Frenzy's Near to Me? That was one I thought would have been great in New Moon.

7742 I can only think of one right now...

Christmas Wrapping - The Waitresses (I worked retail one Christmas. This song played about every half hour and the chorus annoyed the hell out of me. Can't stand it to this day.)

7742 I don't know what they are but let me tell you about these.

First, I love CFA milkshakes even more than the ones you get at locally owned milkshake places. So they take that yummy goodness and add peppermint flavoring. Then there are these teeny flakes of chocolate chips and peppermint candies. So you drink it like a milkshake, but then there are moments of crunchy goodness in between. It was amazing!

7742 The peppermint chip milkshakes at Chick-fil-a were CLEARLY sent to me by Satan in an attempt to make me gluttonously fat. Must...avoid...all...Chick-fil-a...restaurants.

7742 Not depressing, but bleak maybe...

OMG I think I am being tortured.

In addition to my fun books I am currently reading (The Uninvited, Crepusculo), I am reading a book with one of the students I tutor. It is the world's most boring book. I found my mind wandering today as I plodded through a chapter. I thought of our Which One game. Which one? This book or dental surgery. Well dental surgery is painful, but it lasts just one day whereas I am going to have to read this book for many more. UUUUGGGGHHH.

And this is a book for a reluctant reader, too. Poor kid.

7742 It started hurting bad last night, but I took three motrin and babied it. Today it feels better, but we'll see how it holds up after activity.

On a weird note, my toothbrush apparently was touching the soap last night because now my breath is not only pleasantly minty, but has a hint of lavendar...

7742 So, I went to the grocery store and reached around to get the case of soda from the bottom of the cart and heard this ripping sound from my elbow and felt shooting pain. It didn't last long, and I think it will be okay, but a couple of times in the last hour, I moved in such a way that I saw stars.

I have weird cartelidge (carteledge?) as it is. Had issues before where I needed to wear slings and stabilizers for wrists and thumbs in the past and my knee has given out on me from time to time since I was a kid. I am just hoping this doesn't warrant a doctor visit. :(
