7742 I think I know the answer to this since both of you seem to be Friends fans, but I have to ask.

7742 Gene Hackman = Lex Luthor

John Travolta = Danny Zuko Don't get me wrong, I love the recent stuff he's done, and he plays a villain really well, but the Grease Lightning song always pops into my head whenever I see him.

Paul Newman = Luke in Cool Hand Luke

Johnny Depp = Captain Jack Sparrow I know, I know. I have no rational reason for this seeing as how I'll see any movie with him in it.

7742 And is anyone else beginning to like Aphrodite more? At this point, I think I like her more than Zoey.

I'm the same way. There are times when I'd like to reach into the book and just shake her, but despite all that, I'm going to read Tempted.

7742 The U2-Muse concert (last night in MD) was all over the airwaves this morning. People were calling in by the boatload saying that Muse totally stole the show and begged for them to come to the US for a tour. Hopefully they were listening.

7742 I'm really wondering where the DH series is going to lead. I love reading about the Were-Hunters, but I'm really curious to know how Kenyon's going to fix the "problem" of Artemis not wanting to set any more Dark-Hunters free.

7742 Ok, seriously loved this book. It reminded me a lot of Cyber, except none of us have actually met IRL. Even so, there's been a lot of discussion here about our personal lives. There've been weddings, births, parties, loss of jobs, etc. Thankfully, no deaths, but there has been discussion of loved ones we've lost and how grief affects us all. It was easy to pick out some of the similarities between this club and the club in the book. It's one of the reasons I chose it.

So, moving on to the book, I have mixed feelings about James. I want to read the follow-up, Knit Two, because I want to see him actually be a father to Dakota. I think in this book we saw a lot of him feeling guilty and trying to assuage that guilt and buy his way into Dakota's heart, but not actually doing any of the "dad" stuff. He got to play "good cop" while Georgia was stuck being the "bad cop" and that seemed particularly unfair, especially given the fact that he voluntarily missed a large part of Dakota's life so far. That being said, I'm not so sure that I would've forgiven James if it were me. I understand that love can make you do crazy things, but if a man walked out on me while I was pregnant with his child, there wouldn't have been any second chances for romance. He should have a relationship with his daughter, for her sake, but I wouldn't have encouraged another relationship. Just sayin'.

Which leads into a much heavier question, should Lucie have told the father of her child that he's a dad? Legally speaking, the man does have rights. On the other hand, it was a one night stand, and he probably wouldn't exercise those rights even if he did know. Even still, something bugs me about that whole setup. It's not like sperm donation, the guy didn't know that he was just getting used for his swimmers, ya know. The situation probably would've turned out exactly the same anyway with the guy not wanting to be involved and Lucie raising the baby on her own, so why not tell him. I dunno. Part of me was also torn because Lucie was already struggling financially, and now she wants to add a baby to that? It seemed very weird to me.

Did anyone but me have a "WTF?!" moment when Darwin cheated on her husband? Didn't expect that. Actually, what I was expecting the whole time, just waiting for the sh--- to hit the fan, was that he was cheating on her.

I think that's all for now. I'm sure there's more, but this post is already heinously long.

7742 How far back are we talking here? I remember books from elementary school. One of my faves,Where the Wild Things Are, is being turned into a movie, and I couldn't be happier. I loved that book. I think my mom might still have the copy that I stole from the library. After she paid the fine, of course. Besides that, I used to love the Amelia Bedelia books. I still have my copy of Charlotte's Web from way back when. The pages are yellow and the book is actually split in half because the binding is broken, but I refuse to throw it away. LOL Although, I think if I had to choose one book to keep for my kids (whenever I decide to settle down and actually have some), it would be Winnie-the-Pooh. Even now, there's something about that book. I love it.

7742 It was good, but not because of the main female character, Elena. I was much more interested in the mystery of what was going on and whodunit than anything to do with Elena. Love Stefan, but I think he can do better than Elena. LOL My fave characters: Meredith, Matt, and Damon. Bonnie is totally annoying and remains that way throughout the series. Do not expect her to change. It doesn't happen. Also, the description of the characters is always so monotonous. Elena's golden hair, Meredith's calm attitude, etc.
