My mind boggles each time you post an update. I struggle to read 4 pages a day. It looks you read 4-5 books a day!

Yeah, a bunch of friends came out to CA for NMW. I'm heading over to Jen (AY)'s house in a few hours for a drinking and movie bash. Seeing NM together was pretty epic! We took up almost an entire row. ^o^

How could I have forgotten about him? Easy: I work hard at blocking the creepy/scary stuff. *tries to start blocking Child Eater again*

Jen, maybe we should cancel the Kindle pre-order for Beautiful Creatures?

Go you! Because you know we won't be getting much reading done this weekend. ^o^

I haven't listened to him a lot, but what I've heard I really like. I'm a Rat Pack fan, so I love that kind of music anyway. I agree though, HCJ just didn't do much for me.

I picked up my books from the library yesterday. I got The War That Killed Achilles The True Story of Homer's Iliad and the Trojan War, Star Trek Countdown graphic novel and Anno Dracula. I'm unhappy with the last one already because it's an old hardback. No likie hardbacks unless they're history books.

I already pre-ordered a copy. ^o^

I really wanted to like this book. And a lot of it was good. But seriously? Having everything wrapped up in a few pages didn't do it for me. And having Mia ranting and raving about ass kicking and killing aliens for 354 pages and suddenly be happy and sunny and feminine for the last few? I'm not buying it.

I'd also have liked more explanation about HOW the aliens got there in the first place. Some world building would have been nice. Maybe I need to expand my futuristic/sci-fi romance boundaries a bit, but it just felt...rushed. I already know any heroine in this kind of book is going to be the tough, take no prisoners type. You don't need to expound on her fighting abilities and ass kickery any more.

Okay, maybe I didn't like this book a lot more than I first thought. But dammit! It could have been so GOOD. If only the author gave it a bit more time and attention. And detail. I think I'll get the next one from the library. I've noticed that a lot of first books in series kinda suck but the rest are usually better.

I'm so not sure about my answers.
