7742 Hi Everyone! This is a new event to celebrate out anniversary!

The idea is basically a Cyber Scavenger Hunt! To start with, I'm going to list two "objects" that need to be found. Next week I'll list two new objects. I can't wait to see the finds!

7742 Yeah, I'm really interested to see what happens in Mastiff! I wonder if she'll do something that ends up changing the laws of Tortall. Like with slavery? There are differences between her world and Alanna's and it would be cool if she was responsible for some of those!

Also, I thought it was interesting that TP brought in the new Gentle Mother? cult. Which could explain why by Alanna's time women weren't supposed to fight/become knights, etc, even though they had in the past.

The new series look good too! I can't wait to read about Numair's early days : ) The only other Guy POV she's written from (that I can remember) is one of the Circle series characters, Briar. So I'm interested to see what she does with that!

7742 I don't think that is something TP would do, but Pounce really seemed to not like him.... Although Pounce could have other reasons too!

It looks like Mastiff is coming out in 2010, which is good! Terrier came out in 2006, so Bloodhound was a long wait!

7742 **SPOILERS for Bloodhound and Terrier**

Soooooo, Pounce didn't like Dale. I can't help but wonder if he could turn out to be a bad guy in book three. I don't know if TP would do that though.

7742 Hi Everyone!

Awwww, thanks for asking Lisarenee!!! I hope you have a good time with your family!

I'm so sorry I've been away. I've had two part time jobs, and I decided to go full time at one of them, but I'm still working the other part time job so I've been feeling kind of overwhelmed lately. And I haven't been able to Goodread@work... But next week I'm training someone new for the second job, so hopefully I'll get more time off soon!

I've hardly even been reading... *gasp!* Although I did get about halfway through Generation Kill. It was really good!

I still haven't gotten any glasses. Maybe I'm being too picky, lol!
7742 I liked "Like Water for Chocolate!"

And the Shirley Jackson sounds interesting : ) Is she the one who wrote "The Lottery"?
7742 I'm going to suggest:

The Code of the Woosters by P.G. Wodehouse. Although it might be a bit long at 224 pages. But it's funny and light : )
7742 Hi Everyone!

So, what do you guys think? We're looking for "Books you could finish in a day," which was chosen by poll for July's Book Category.

Any books you'd love to share with the group?

Thanks everyone!

7742 Very interesting. Someone transcribed a week long discussion between Lucas and Spielberg about creating Raiders of the Lost Arc. This is an article about the transcript, and a link to where you can download it.

7742 Anyone have a category or book suggestion they are dying to share? Or a whimsical idea? Let us know!
7742 Hi Everyone!

Thank you all for the suggestions! There are a lot of books here I want to read. I really liked the idea of a book for May that related to Veteran's Day, and decided to focus on books that were about being a soldier. Many of our suggestions here focused on characters caught up by the events of war in some other way, and I'd love it if we could have a category for that in a few months!

Again, thank you all for the suggestions!

7742 Lol, thanks Jayne and Jenn! I still haven't bought a new pair of glasses... But I got a recommendation for a new place to check out!

Lisarenee, I'll have to check out the Mortal Instruments Trilogy, it looks good!
