Someone booted everybody from the RAHA group, including me. They'd have had to have been a moderator, and the only moderators unless someone else added one were people I know... :(
((I'm not sure at this point. First there was a road, in the rain, in the cold, then there was a desert. Might be two different stories, but they're on the same thread... I think we're just improvising for the moment, rather than having a concrete story))
Only two months, folks, until we start writing our NaNoWriMo novels! What have you got planned for it, and do you hope to make the 50,000 words this year? (Also, have you anything else to say about it?)
((I know :P I'm sorry, Sarafina, didn't mean anything by it. You can keep her at level 94 if you want, it just caught me off guard :P Who do you play DND with?))
((Level 94 right off o_o Who am I to judge? Try not to powerplay--powerplaying is when you give your character an unfair advantage through prose, particularly when you don't give other players a chance to respond (eg 'George kills everyone' is blatant powerplaying, while 'George prepares to kill everyone,' for our purposes, isn't)--though the level 94 bit is probably fine as we're all here to have fun.))
Ah rain. The cold wasn't so great, but the rain... It felt good after working in close quarters with so many all afternoon. Zale happens along the road, without a destination but just as determined as ever even as pink-haired eight year old girls appeared to his eyes. Or one of them. He grunts gruffly, but beyond that makes no indication of having seen her, altering his course to take him around in a wide circle.
((Do we want to establish some theme, or wing it? As we're bound to get different characters, I suggest an intersection of dimensions, or some such...))
I am unschooled, yeah. I thought of a few downsides to it: Besides the lack of much structure, which gets on my nerves at times, you can't get a photo ID without jumping through hoops so it becomes really hard to do a lot of things.College can be another problem; around Rochester, though, they seem to be really good about homeschoolers and unschoolers.
Close! It's Schuyler! You can have 9.5 points.(P.S. If this is the Abby I know, then this is the Schuyler you know! :P (We will probably have met at drama, if that is the case))
Education From the Free Eye
A surprisingly insightful essay by Kevin Snavely, an unschooled young man who elected to experience public school for a year.
It helped me understand the whole deal, though I certainly don't share all of his values...

Ten points if you can guess my name based only on the tan bar above my post! :P 17 years of age, almost too old to be a kid anymore. :(Favorite band is Tin Hat Trio...
They don't really hover over me. I actually appreciate the space. More structure is nice occasionally, but I can deal. I also like the freedom to research or explore with what I prefer over what someone prefers for me.
