7646 I can't wait to see Avatar. Looks like fun.
7646 You don't like Adam Sandler! I admit, his stuff is a bit over the top for me a lot of times, but he can be funny. I love "Happy Gilmore", especially when Bob Barker beats him up.
7646 Too many good guy bullets. All the characters are caricatures, too many coincidences, too predictable. Besides, Doc can always get the girl & never does. He's too noble. Blech! Waste not, want not.

7646 I hate being sick. I guess I'm all slept up because I'm up at 5:30 this morning. <sigh> I really prefer to sleep in until 6 or so on the weekends.
7646 I read some of the Doc Savage books, but even as a kid, I could only take them in small doses.

7646 Thanks, Nina. All better today. I slept a lot & then late this morning. Pretty well back to normal today.
7646 I thought Romulans were just unrestrained Vulcans. Vulcans decided they were too emotional & that caused them problems like war, so they got logic. I like logic just fine, but it's not nearly as much fun. Yes, I guess I am more of a spark plug. My wife tells me I'm always causing problems, anyway.
;-)
7646 Oh no! Emotionally, I'm all over the map constantly. No Vulcan like restraint here! I whoop, holler & cuss, letting the entire world know exactly how I feel. I'd be more of a Romulan.

7646 I'm at home feeling yuck. Nothing specific, besides achy & yucky & really tired.

7646 No, it's not that good, Jackie. Not too far beneath it, though. Some of it is a little more obvious. it's certainly a different take on the gods & was a fun trip. It only takes a few hours to read.

7646 I thought it was OK, but definitely a juvenile book.

7646 Joy, it's not luck that makes me able to fix XP problems. It's my JOB. One of the main duties, anyway.
7646 I've been able to do the Vulcan salute with both hands perfectly since the 60's.

7646 Actually, I don't know why I said XP was solid. That's dumb. I know where XP usually breaks & how to fix it. The gods know I've had enough practice doing so.

7646 I'll disagree with your boys, Joy. XP is old, but solid. I won't trust Windows 7 for a while yet. I plan on getting a new PC in Jan10 for my work machine. I absolutely detest the fact that Microsoft moved everything around again. So many of the same functions are hidden in different places. They seem to like to do this for no reason I can figure out.

It's why my company refuses to move beyond Office 2003 to 2007. We'll probably just move to Open Office. If folks have to learn a new interface, they might as well learn on a free one.

7646 Probably all is OK, Joy. Windows just has a hard time in the mornings sometimes - don't we all? Seriously, a BSOD isn't a problem unless it happens more than once.
7646 Yuck! We're still above freezing, well above. I think it was 60 yesterday, but closer to 50 today. Cold wet rain though.
7646 Probably, Arnie. I'm not certain since I've never seen it. He's probably not well known because few people read the screen credits.
7646 I just finished Hell House by Richard Matheson. It was good. A real classic house haunting. He's probably one of the more influential, but least known authors around.

7646 Your son & I agree. I never use the most popular antivirus for the same reason. Virus writers often test their stuff on the top 2 or 3, but #4 is usually as good (or better) & isn't a target.

My son uses Linux, exclusively. I have to support Windows because too many of the business applications we run only work on Windows computers. I use Linux on all of the pieces of hardware that sit between the Internet & the network inside, though. IOW, where ever I can.

For corporate files, no one has ever done a better job than Novell, IMO.
