7646 Werner, YES! I love Ever After and Never Been Kissed, both were really good. I usually don't like chic flicks, but for some reason, when Drew's in them, I like them.

Pontalba, yes, I think he did too, unknowingly but yes. Which is odd, though, taken in the context of the entire movie, he can't remember anything for more than a few minutes...so he remembers those details, but attributes them to Jankins? That's the only thing I don't think fit in. Oh wait, one more thing, if Teddy really was a cop, why would he help him like that? That's essentially aiding and abetting murder.
It threw me when Lenny wrote down Teddy's license plate number, because at that moment he knew exactly what would happen, where it would lead. Crazy story but good.
7646 I followed Memento pretty easily. I really enjoyed the way it was laid out, kept it interesting.
7646 I've liked Drew Barrymore since she was in ET. I find her enjoyable to watch, there's just something endearing about her.

7646 I just realized I never put up the trailer for AVATAR, release date Dec 18, 2009
"Avatar" is the story of a wounded ex-marine, thrust unwillingly into an effort to settle and exploit an exotic planet rich in bio-diversity, who eventually crosses over to lead the indigenous race in a battle for survival.

7646 Eric and Anthony like him, I've watched a few movies of AS, they had same good moments, but in general I don't care for American movies.
7646 Watching Memento, which was recommended to me in another group. It's good, different. It starts at the end and works it way through to the beginning.

A man, suffering from short-term memory loss, uses notes and tattoos to hunt for the man he thinks killed his wife.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0209144/

Another movie about short term memory loss but comedic is 50 First Dates:
Henry Roth is a man afraid of commitment up until he meets the beautiful Lucy. They hit it off and Henry think he's finally found the girl of his dreams, until he discovers she has short-term memory loss and forgets him the very next day
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0343660/

That was the first time I ever liked Adam Sandler in a movie. The only reason I even watched is it because Drew Barrymore was in it; I couldn't miss her just because of him, LOL And I'm glad I saw it.
He's gone on to do a couple of really good movies:

Reign Over Me

7646 There's just Too Much out there that I want to read or see. I'll never be able to read or watch everything that I want. Half the time, I forget about a movie or book...unless it's posted in a group and I can see it there. I write myself notes, but then I lose those too, LOL
7646 OK, I see what you mean. I'm not a fan of predictability.

7646 Steven Spielberg and Stephen King are joining forces to develop a limited series based on King's just-released supernatural thriller Under the Dome A Novel. DreamWorks TV has optioned the book and is looking to set it up as an event series, likely for cable.

Book, which has earned strong reviews as a return to form for the prolific author, revolves around the drama that unfolds after an invisible force field suddenly descends on a small vacation town in Maine. As the locals fight for their survival, the town descends into warring factions led by enigmatic characters.

DreamWorks is starting to meet with writers for the project. The plan is to set a writer before shopping the show to prospective buyers.

Spielberg and King have worked together in the past, developing a screen adaptation of King's 1984 novel "The Talisman," on which Spielberg has had the option for more than 20 years. That project has been developed as a feature, and it came close to being done as a mini-series for TNT a few years ago until it was tabled for budgetary reasons.

I wish they did The Talisman, it was one of my more favorite Stephen King books.

7646 A remake of Beauty and the Beast:
Plot: Kyle Kingson (Pettyfer) has it all – looks, intelligence, wealth and opportunity – and a wicked cruel streak. Prone to mocking and humiliating "aggressively unattractive" classmates, he zeroes in on Goth classmate Kendra, inviting her to the school’s extravagant environmental bash. Kendra accepts, and, true to form, Kyle blows her off in a particularly savage fashion. She retaliates by casting a spell that physically transforms him into everything he despises. Enraged by his horrible and unrecognizable appearance he confronts Kendra and learns that the only solution to the curse is to find someone that will love him as he is – a task he considers impossible.

Repulsed by his appearance, Kyle's callous father banishes him to Brooklyn with a sympathetic housekeeper and blind tutor. As Kyle ponders how to overcome the curse and get his old life back, he chances upon a drug addict in the act of killing a threatening dealer. Seizing the opportunity, Kyle promises the addict freedom and safety for his daughter, Lindy (Hudgens) if she will consent to live in Kyle's Brooklyn home. Thus begins Kyle's journey to discover true love in this hyper-modern retelling of the classic "Beauty and the Beast" story.

Doesn't show much on the trailer but I'll keep a lookout for more. Plenty of time until it's release date in July 2010.
The updated plot has potential.

7646 Jim, can you elaborate?

7646 I got up early today to go food shopping before the crowds. But I couldn't fall asleep til 4AM so I'll be napping shortly.
On the way home, I started to feel queasy, exactly how Anthony and Eric felt when their flu or cold (whatever this is) started. I'm cooking Thanksgiving dinner here so I hope I don't get any worse. That nap is sounding better and better...
7646 We have too much sensory input, I think it'd be impossible to remember everything.
7646 Joy, I think you'll like Seven Pounds. It's sad, but it's deep. I leaves you thinking about it after it's over. I like movies like that. I am still amazed at what a great actor Will Smith has become. I never would have thunk it back in the Fresh Prince of Bel Air days, LOL

Another movie that I really love is Sling Blade with Billy Bob Thornton. He deserved an Academy Award for his role of Karl. The film won a few Academy Awards that year but he didn't take it for Best Actor. It was the first film I ever saw him in and he hasn't been as good ever since. To be fair, though, it was an outstanding role. And one of those movies that stay with you. I thought about it for a long time afterwards. And I love Karl, my all time favorite anti-hero. I watch this movie every couple of years. I think I'll watch it tomorrow; it's too late to start it now.

Synopsis from imdb:
A partially handicapped man named Karl is released from a mental hospital, several years after murdering his mother and another person. Karl is often questioned if he will ever kill again, and he shrugs in response saying there is no reason to. Now out of the mental institution, Karl settles in his old, small hometown, occupying himself by fixing motors. After meeting a young boy named Frank who befriends him, Karl is invited to stay at Frank's house with his mother Linda- who views Karl as a strange but kind and generous man. However, Linda's abusive boyfriend Doyle, sees things differently in the way rules ought to be run- normally insulting Linda's homosexual friend Vaughan (exceptionally played by John Ritter) as well as Karl's disabilities, and having wild parties with his friends. As Karl's relation with Frank grows, he is ever so watchful of Doyle's cruel actions.
7646 He isn't? (gasp!)
Wow, that's incredible that he did such a great job of it. I think the casting was well done and that makes a big difference to me. I could really see all the older characters we know so well in those young people, they were how I'd imagine them to be.
What a fantastic story too! I was so happy to see Leonard Nimoy in it. And I couldn't believe that Romulan was Eric Bana! Wow, did he look completely different!

And yes, I can do the Vulcan Live Long and Prosper sign on both hands, LOL. That's such a cool saying!
7646 She was also in Seven Pounds, which was a really good movie:
